You conveniently forgot to mention that the corruption you refer to is endemic to the culture and is bad or worse when the left is in control. Don't forget that the Sandinistas reneged on every promise they made, as well as looting the country for personal gain, then declaring amnesty for themselves just before turning power over to others. If Ortega does win, it will because he can appeal to enough young voters who are too young to remember how corrupt he and his government were.

I was on the Board of Directors of a regulated finance company (now a bank) down there. Sandinistas were on the board and amongst the shareholding. Entirely coincidental, my bro-in-law in Ohio works for the son of the current Prez of Nicaragua, neither of whom are crooks.
What is your experience backing up your statement, specifically which "pro-American" governments you had in mind?
