This is disappointing Im a long time listener of Glen and cant stand CNN. I dont know how to take this.
And the liberals will be eagerly waiting for that one little slip every second he's on the air.
"Rush failed on TV"
No he didn't. He just didn't like it - and none of the networks would sell him any time within a good time slot.
I've heard Rush talk about it a lot and he's very happy in radio - and now that he's the #1 radio person - he's even more happy. In case you didn't know, in the ratings, Rush is listed #1 for people who are looking for hard news. That is a major accomplishment. And .. it also means the old media no longer has a monopoly on the news.
Savage failed .. because they set him up to fail. I believe they brought him on just to take him down. But .. Savage has rebounded - and although I don't listen to him, he has a good following.
"Off Topic:
On Wednesday, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00
on the morning, the time and date will be:
01:02:03 04/05/06
That won't ever happen again."
Yes it will . . .
A thousand years from now . . . and every thousand thereafter.
Nope.
1 pm is:
13:02:03 04/05/06
(military time)
"It will happen one more time : at 1 PM. Pretty cool, though."
Nope.
1 pm is:
13:02:03 04/05/06
(military time)
True.
After that, we will have to look forward to 02:03:04 05/06/07, which will probably seem like a letdown. But we will make the best of it.
Trying to do a TV show and 3 hours of live radio daily took a toll. But the real problem was that his show was scheduled for something like 2 a.m. on the West Coast. I seem to remember his ratings didn't deserve that but the liberals running the scheduling couldn't allow his message to get out.
I just hope he is there long enough that people are able to learn his sense of humor. I also think sales of duct tape will increase 40%.
" Building on a year of massive ratings growth in 2005, Headline News will add..."
Massive ratings growth? OK, that's one way to spin it...acutally, I wouldn't expect anything else from CNN.
When it was clear Rush wasn't going away, the pompous PBS types convened a forum of 'distinguished' contributors to 'view with alarm' the phenomenon of 'political talk radio.' I can't recall now all who participated but it was the usual bunch of suspects: familiar flap-mouthed liberal second-raters all.
I watched in absolute fascination as they harumphed with righteous indignation for a full hour without once mentioning Rush's name or even acknowledging his existence! He was clearly the reason for their great passion but he was The One Who Could Not Be Named. It was completely unreal and existential. I knew then, sometime in the early '90s, that the MSM were doomed. I think they knew it too.
100 years from now...
"On Wednesday" someone should start a thread to see if that time can be pegged in a post. . . ET . . then CT . . then Mountain . .
Do you listen to him on the net or IPod? I may treat myself to a subscribtion too. Rush makes hearing bad news enjoyable!
Rush would have eventually been successful with the masses....but....he tripped on a very human fault....drugs. He knows this and apparently has corrected the problem....I respect his strength.
Even at 2 AM he still got pretty good ratings. But, exactly, doing two shows in one day so far apart from each other will take their toll. The only other similar situation I can think of is Jim Rome's radio and TV shows, but he goes on TV right after his radio show ends, so it's just like another hour of work.
I listen on the net. My computer is in my bedroom, and it's great to not miss a show. Also, when you listen on the net, not live, all the commercials are cut out.
I only get the web subscription. It's better than any magazine I ever bought. All the news thats bothered me all day, he just wipes it all out.
Merely a "Token" non-liberal for CNN. "See, we're not liberal leaning, we have Glen Beck".
