10 percent send kids to public schools.

My grandkids attend a grade school in Washington, where HALF the children speak Spanish. The extra costs of providing a bi-lingual education are not offset by immigrant tax payments.

None of the children in my church go to the school directly across the street. One mom sent her son to school when they first moved here. This 10 year old came home crying. When his mom asked what the problem was, he said, "No one there speaks English. Not even the teachers." A spot was immediately found for him at a local charter school.

"The extra costs of providing a bi-lingual education are not offset by immigrant tax payments."

"Using data from the Census Bureau's current population survey, Steven Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies, an advocacy group in Washington that favors more limits on immigration, estimated that 3.8 million households headed by illegal immigrants generated $6.4 billion in Social Security taxes in 2002."

Camarota is no illegal alien apologist, he's quite the opposite. Until the day that we come to grips with the fact that the Federal government benefits financially from illegal aliens, we will not begin to solve this problem.

$6.4 billion dollars pumped yearly into the Federal coffers by illegal aliens who will not file to get their money back buys a whole lot of bilingual education, as well as a lot of looking-the-other-way from politicians.

It's like anything else...just follow the money.
