Capitol Hill police are expected to seek an arrest warrant next week for Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who was involved in a physical confrontation with a Capitol police officer Wednesday, police and legal authorities said Thursday.
Officially, the investigation of the incident, in which the DeKalb County Democrat allegedly struck a police officer who tried to stop her from going around a security checkpoint, is ongoing, said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for Capitol Hill police.
However, police have notified the federal prosecutor's office in Washington that they will be seeking an arrest warrant after the investigation is complete next week, said police and legal authorities, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the investigation was not yet complete.
McKinney ignored a reporter's questions Thursday as she walked into the Capitol, before word of the planned arrest warrant. She could not be reached for comment later Thursday. . . .

Karl Rove, get your mini-cam for this.
Cut and splice and attach it to an RNC ad this fall.
Under the pictures, have a voice ask, "And which party is the party of security?"
Nuff said. It's worth thousands of votes nationwide.
Nationalize the McKinney incident in the '06 elections.
Actually her driver ran into one correct?
She looks nuttier than a squirrel turd in that picture.
----
that's a new one one me. lol
She reminds me of a turd in the punchbowl.
Poor Cynthia, that is a federal offense too! Think she might get sentenced to sit in "ol' Sparky"? Sure hope so. That would create a vacancy for the dimowits, wouldn't it?
She's the poster child for "Any freak can find enough dopes to be voted into Congress if you Gerrymander the district enough."
Seems to me that ALL should go through security. EVERY ONE OF THE POMPOUS DORKS.
I'm undaunted in my quest to amuse myself by constantly changing my hair.
Hillary Clinton
If I want to knock a story off the front page, I just change my hairstyle.
Hillary Clinton
Her driver hit the cop. Hilliary silenced the cop. And she didn't do it for her driver.
hmmm... LOL
I doubt it will happen. Too many heads will swing if they arrest her. You do not mess with politicians in DC without retribution, especially minorities. Remember Chaundra Levy? Hope the name is spelled correctly. What about old Vince Foster. The Democrats are the party that complains about the corruption so they can not have violated the law. Our countries corruption and partisan politics are eating us alive.
Too bad Johnny Cochrane wasn't alive. We all know that he's the one that this clown would be calling.
Any hope its being written up as a hate crime? :)
No chance that charges will ever be pressed.....
Reasons...
1. she is black
2. she is female
3. she is a member of congress... short of live action video from 4 angles with still cameras to back up showing her shoot at or attempt to stick an ice pick in the officer, they are untouchable....
And after the revelation about Bubba's driver last week, who the heck knows.
She makes Trafficant look sane.
Well, technically I think it was actually the car. ;-)
I'm not sure how how the incident went down with sHillary and the hitting of the cop incident. Since she wasn't driving she shouldn't be culpable in that, although if i remember correctly she nenver stopped after knocking him to the ground.
That could be viewed as a crime of refusing to render aid so someone in distress, or leaving the scene of an accident/crime(hit & run).
Technically, it was an SUV :) Not very green of her, was it?
Doh! :D
Come on, now. Let's not sound like some other forums. She shouldn't get a death sentence, but she should be held to the same standards as you and me.
Okay, and maybe tack on an extra 6-12 months because she's a first-class nut job! :-)
