McKinney faces arrest over security incident

Capitol Hill police are expected to seek an arrest warrant next week for Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who was involved in a physical confrontation with a Capitol police officer Wednesday, police and legal authorities said Thursday.

Officially, the investigation of the incident, in which the DeKalb County Democrat allegedly struck a police officer who tried to stop her from going around a security checkpoint, is ongoing, said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for Capitol Hill police.

However, police have notified the federal prosecutor's office in Washington that they will be seeking an arrest warrant after the investigation is complete next week, said police and legal authorities, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the investigation was not yet complete.

McKinney ignored a reporter's questions Thursday as she walked into the Capitol, before word of the planned arrest warrant. She could not be reached for comment later Thursday. . . .

Are persons elected to Congress or the Senate above the law?
According to the progressive left, the Republicans are dangerously incompetent. According to her actions, I think the pot is calling the kettle black.
If the left wants clean skirts, they have to clean up their act(s) as well.
The assault was uncalled for and this Congresswoman should be censured for her act of aggression. I am sure this is not her first offense. A little research will bring this out.

Was it in NY where a house member brought in a visitor, bypassed security just to have his visitor pull and gun and kill the house member?

What Mckinney did is indicitive of an overall problem with our elected officials. Laws are only for the little guys.

We're seeing it right now with the sellout of our country to illegal aliens.

We're seeing it when elected officials can steal ballots, voting machines and have the votes of dead/illegal people count.

We're seeing how the house responds when one of their members commits assault against a LEO. Laws...who needs em...

It's not her first offense. Last night Fox News during Britt Hume's show had a report of a former House Aide who was physically assaulted when she tried to bypass security with a "friend" to get into a private function with Barak.

He didn't press charges for fear of losing his job.

Come on, now. Let's not sound like some other forums. She shouldn't get a death sentence, but she should be held to the same standards as you and me.

Come on, you know that there is no way in hell that she will be held to the same standards are a regular citizen. Hell, congress people have their own retirement program, on health care program, billions of freebies, free flights, free mailing, free you name it. Vote their own pay raises, do what ever they want without anyone stopping them. There is NO WAY this piece of s*** will ever be formally charged or appear in a court. NO WAY.

Doesn't Congresswoman McKinney enjoy Congressional immunity, just like Sen. Kennedy?

She looks nuttier than a squirrel turd in that picture.

Do you mean that there's a picture of her where she doesn't look nuttier than a squirrel turd?

To enter the plant he must have his ID badge visible, place any carry items into a scanner, go through a metal detector, followed by a radiation monitor, complete a hand geometry scan and then still have a visual scan of his ID by security guards he's known for years.

If I forget my ID badges, not only do I not get into the building (even though everyone knows me), but I have to bring donuts the next day!

"Don't be so sure. She got booted once before in a primary,..."

Happened in '02 because there were no significant GOP primary races so a lot of republicans crossed over and voted against her in the democratic primary.

In '04 with the presidential primary and all, she came back and won solidly.

Because her previous opponent ran for the Senate.
