This is probably Republicans raising money for Hillary, just so she can win the nomination but lose the White House.

Did the senator thank Ronnie Earl in the back room or out in pubic?

A source familiar with the Austin event tells me that at least one attendee was surprised by the fact that many who showed up were Republican women, lots of them first-time donors. Sure. You got a bridge to sell me, too?

that most impenetrable of red-state strongholds: Texas. As far as elections go, yes it is impenetrable, as far as liberals go, there are plenty.

Senator Clinton did a great deal of fundraising around the country in March, and her private fundraising schedule -- which was passed along by a source -- shows that she raked in big bucks in that most impenetrable of red-state strongholds: Texas. The deepest pockets among the politicos in Texas are the Democrat lawyers. I think they account for something like 15 of the top 20 givers.
And something like 10 of them got money out of the state's Tobacco settlement (the lawyers split something like a billion dollars).
Could be interesting to see just who gave.
Democrats may not be able to be elected in Texas but it doesn't mean that there aren't Democrats in Texas.

Don't believe the part about Republican women...we may be Texans, but we aren't dumb.
And, the part about Austin being where Bush lived when he was Governor? SO????
Austin is like Boulder, Colorado, or San Francisco, California...EVERY state probably has their LEFTY city.
AND, I have news, just breaking---Bush did NOT get 100% of the vote from Texas in 2000 or 2004.

Before anyone gets too concerned, these are very likely mostly idle "corporate wives" who develop liberal passions so they can hang with the fashionables in Austin--the "film industry", etc. I happen to know one of these who wants badly to rub elbows with the "Spy Kids" guy. Soros also spends a lot of money on Austin "documentarians."
It's a social thing for the preachy Mrs. Bill Gates types, only in the blue pimple in an otherwise red state.

IIRC, the aged chorus girl looking thingee, (Ann Richards?) also raised alot of money. Texas is, unfortunately, also home to some rich democrats.

Hill's the one to beat. It will be very difficult to stop her since there are no good GOP candidates in the bull pen itching to run against her.

The website posting this is a liberal one. Article is designed to look like they have a foothold here - WHICH THEY DO NOT.

I smell BIG TIME PHONY MANUFACTURED story smell. It reminds me of those stories that start off "I've voted for every Replication candidate for the last 487 years but this election I'm voting for the hard left RAT..."
