From yesterday but it is interesting they are heading toward a psychiatric evaluation without knowing the extent of what the prosecutors will present on the motive.

The police said right away that they thought they knew what the motive was. I assume it was based upon what Mary said in her confession.

Even if the prosecutors don't know the motive, they may want the psychiatrist to confirm that Mary "suffers from post-partum psychosis" just for CYA purposes.

Winkler apparently fled with her children to southern Alabama, where she was arrested late last week. They have been placed in the custody of their maternal grandparents.

I distinctly remember reading that the children were with the paternal grandparents. Wonder what's up with the change of custody?

If they are moving toward a psych evaluation, it means that her motive was neither self-defense nor defending her children.

I am getting really sick of the coverage of the Church of Christ as a "sect", the minister as charismatic and that the church is restrictive.

This is a major trash job on the Church of Christ as is always the case when any fundamental church has members that hit the news. Those interviewed as authorities as knowledgeable really show how secular and ignorant they are with their comments.

Even Geraldo was way off base calling him a Pentecostal preacher. I thought Geraldo would at least verify and investigate before he hit the air waves.

Something tells me the father may have been abusing the children (or one of the children) and the mother may have just found out about it and snapped. Why else would she kill him,then take the kids and run? It just seems to me like she was trying to just get away from him,away from the whole situation.It's really very sad...very sad,indeed.The kids are the innocent victims in this whole situation,as they usually end up being,time and time again.
