The illegal population has grown to more than 11.5 million nationwide, according to estimates by the Pew Hispanic Center, a research group in Washington. In Florida, the number more than tripled from 240,000 in 1990 to 885,000 in 2004, the group estimates.
Any way you slice it, the hispanic population is going to grow. I don't mind the Hispanic people. They are hard working and Catholic, two things I espouse despite being white collar. The problem I have is the illegal immigration and the idea that it's ok for them to be here when people like my grandfather and grandmother came over "on the boat," and paid their dues to get citizenship.
The real number is probably between 20 to 30 million illegals.
