I would love it, too. I'd love to be part of and I think it will happen.
Villaragosa faced with a CNN infoslut throwing something other than softball, powderpuff, soundbite questions at him. No wonder he was speechless.
I'm sorry I missed it.
Translation: We are millions of voices shouting withou stopping. We are not criminals we just want to work. No on H.R. 4437.
He seems at a loss for words a lot of the time.
Maybe it's when the little microphone in his ear shorts out.
And use your ERs as clinics (which you nasty citizens get to pay for), us your schools to educate our kids (again, on your dollar, thanks!),and drive w/o registration and insurance on your roads (if we hit you, too bad for you!).
that it is
Until they're bankrupted.
I don't know how you missed the fact that the military recruits resident aliens, not illegals. Resident alien, although not citizenship, is a legal status.
It's great that your son serves in the military. We are big supporters of the military here on FR. But your posts show that you think you are better than others because of that. At least, that's the way you come across. Maybe you are angry about something. I have seen more than a few cranky military moms around here. But, I've also seen and met some really wonderful ones.
I guess even a war and patriotism don't unite all of us.
The longer you wait to open your eyes to the truth, the more it will hurt.
A couple of years ago I was sick with some funky stomach flu and had a fever of 104+ that would not come down no matter how much Tylenol and cold water baths I took. After about 15 hours of fighting the nonstop fever and an inability to focus or see straight, my roommate decided to take me to the ER at 11pm I had to wait 6 hours because the place was loaded with people. The triage nurse told my roommate they are always jam packed with nonemergency cases. The nurse did her best to get me in fast and get some IVs in me (I was also dehydrated from inability to keep anything in me), but I swear if I spoke Spanish and needed a translator I would have gotten in faster. My insurance that I had at the time covered most of it, but I still had a good-sized bill. I wonder how much though I actually paid via my tax dollars for all those there who didn't have insurance and were not in the country legally.
Can you not see the hypocrisy of your post ?
(you probably can't, just like they can't, so let me explain. you complain about their signs being over the line, while the rest of your post is over the line)
fyi, the job of a triage nurse is if there is a wait, to prioritize the patients by severity, not spanish vs. english.
If your had a heart attack, you would have gotten treated sooner and if you had a hang nail, you would have a long wait.
I have two friends who were broadsided by an illegal. She was banged up, he had his head laid open. I took them to the ER and spent most of the night. There didn't appear to be any other English speaking patients in the waiting room all night long.
Me having to pay for someone else to use the ER as a clinic bothers me. I live in L.A.. Contractors regulary dump off injured workers at the ERs and then speed out of there to avoid having to pay for their treatment. Guess who gets to pay them?
And county hospitals are a great place to have anchor babies at taxpayers' expense.
And bring them back to everytime they sniffle.
Yep. The ER will give them free drug "samples". Beats paying the pharmacy.
I too am of Mexican descent, and believe the border problem needs to be solved - however, after reading many of the posts here - they sound as ignorant, offensive and racist as the ones portrayed on wehategringos.
I'm guess I'm saddened that the posters that make the same type of remarks here don't realize they are doing the same thing they pretend to be offended by.
This type of rhetoric will only cause more division, not constructive problem solving - and from my perspective, reflects negatively on this forum.
If one wants to promote a cause, tactfulness and civility will go much further than hatemongering and mob mentality. Anyone convinced against their will is of the same opinion still....
