Once Protected by Hussein, Palestinians Suffer Backlash By KIRK SEMPLE
BAGHDAD, Iraq, March 24 The bill of death appeared overnight on Thursday, addressed to "the Palestinian traitors," and the killers were specific in their intent.
"We warn you that we will eliminate you all if you don't leave the area for good within 10 days," the leaflet said. It was signed by a group calling itself the Judgment Day Battalion, and it was scattered in front of the homes of Palestinians in Al Hurriya, a northern Baghdad neighborhood.
"We are ready to leave Iraq if we have the chance," a Palestinian resident of Al Hurriya said today, declining to provide his name for fear of retribution. "This is the opinion of everyone here."
He added, "We feel unsafe and today is better than tomorrow." ....
The Palestinian community in Iraq was once a pet cause of Saddam Hussein, who granted its members special treatment. But now, they say, they are suffering the backlash for that favoritism, and for being Sunni Arabs.

I have a gut feeling the mantra repeated from many diverse corners that they hate us in the Mideast because of Israel's "treatment" of the "Palestinians" may not be true.
I think they hate us because they hate us and will continue to hate us even after we finish serving Israel up to them.

On March 14, the United Nations' high commissioner on refugees, António Guterres, sent a letter to President Jalal Talabani of Iraq expressing his concern about reports of violence against Palestinians and "the limited capacity of the Iraqi security forces to provide effective protection" to them, according to Astrid van Genderen Stort, a spokeswoman for the commissioner's office. He suggested the creation of "a special protection office" in areas populated by Palestinians. Guterres has balls for an impotent (really bad word here)

Many of these Palestinians were members of the Fedyeen (and have actively supported the terrorists). I'm sure there are some who did not, but most of them did.

With the fall of Mr. Hussein's regime, many Palestinians were driven from their homes by owners whose property had been appropriated by Mr. Hussein.1) What a shock, people would actually want their stolen property back.
2) Don't ya just love the Mr. Hussein stuff?

The fact is, the entire Arab world is contemptuous of the Palestinians, whom they call Phillistines, never Palestinians.
Remember the Palestinians in Kuwait when Saddam invaded? When the Kuwaitis got their country back, there was a backlash too. The fact is, the Philllistines are the lowest rung on the ladder in that part of the world.
With all their oil wealth, the Sauds, Kuwaitis, Iranians, Qataris and others who claim to champion the Palestinian cause could subsidize the Palestinian population and raise the standard of living in the West Bank and Gaza Strip immensely through investment.
Instead, all their money goes to HAMAS and Islamic Jihad and families of suicide bombers.
Why? Because they don't give a hoot about the Phillistines. They really only want to see Israel wiped off the map.

Iraqi house cleaning continues. At least these guys got a warning. The guys belonging to the surplus bodies showing up around town with a bullet through the head did not.
The US should set up a caravan to get them back to the Palestinian Homeland.

Jordan wasn't fond of them. The king obliterated an entire village around 1971. And the PLO was sent packing.
Lebanese were glad to get rid of them in the 1980s.
Tunisia was happy to see them gone.
The Kuwaitis were stung by the Palistinians cheering the Iraqi invasion in 1990. Small wonder that when the Kuwaitis returned the PLO/PLA was not welcome like they once were.
Palistinians are not really welcome anywhere because they have a history, they have serious issues with pretty much everyone, and they continually mess up their nest, so to speak.

The west bank Jordanians, aka the Palestinians are the Cliff Barneses of the Arab world. They never miss an opportunity to make poor choices.

Exactly, the Palis are proxy war cannon fodder for the Arabs. They couldn't give a rat's patoot about them.

And yet fairly recent polls show that Kuwaitis view the plight of the Palestinians as the single most important political issue in the world. Freakin' Arabs are out of their minds. Shows you what happens when you believe in a religion that views lying to the infidel as not only a right, but a duty. Not to mention their disdain for hard work and women.

"After Goliath, it's been all downhill for them Philistines."
The Philistinians where a totally different race of people. They are now literally extinct. poof. no longer exists. The Arabs in Palestine are just that. A mixture of different tribes of Arabs who migrated into the area over a period of time.

As races go, you are correct. I was jesting in response to post 10, where fellow Arabs refer to the Palis as Philistines in derision.
