No,not necessarily. But if convincing evidence of anything like this is presented I think that many "reasonable men" (and women) would,at least,be inclined to go easier on her than they would if her motive was insurance money,a new boyfriend,or wanting to avoid a divorce court in an effort to get 100% of the family's funds vs 50%.
Are there any other crimes you think should be legally punishable by death, sentence to be handed down by the victim without the benefit of trial?
Neither of these are capital offenses, however disgusting and reprehensible. If he was guilty of them it should have been for a court to decide his fate, not his wife and a weapon. Plus, she shot him in the back....so there goes her self defense argument.
Well he was a preacher, and probably treated her as his prize cow
I'm inclined to agree. But if,by chance,he *was* engaged in some kind of serious abuse then that abuse could be seen as a mitigating factor regarding exactly what she's guilty of and what punishment she should get.
In fact, nobody knows what *really* happened, other than the guy is dead and the wife has confessed.I,personally, think her lawyer will use the abuse defense or the mental illness defense. The evidence he presents to back up these claims will decide what she deserves,IMO.
"If she uses anything like this as her defense, she'd better have proof...."
Honestly, these days I think all that need be done is that SHE point out HE and unless HE can prove 'no' HE is guilty and will be found so in court with a jury. Look at how many guys go up on an ID alone.
Well he was a preacher, and probably treated her as his prize cow
Only in countries that have embraced christianity have women been treated as MORE than prized cows. Your stereotyping is just plain misinformed. Ever wonder why China and the Arab nations don't produce Hillary Clintons? Only nations that were predominantly Christian layed the ground work for freedom for all people of all beliefs.
Not necessarily. A child who is coerced into orally "servicing" an adult wouldn't bear any physical evidence at all.
Your list didn't include them catholics...hel....er....heck, they're more fun than the rest because they're so sanctimonius!
Perhaps. But one would think that there'd be some sort of change in behavior that might be noticed by a teacher,a physician or relative.
In the back???
SAVAGE!!!!
But it would sure be difficult to detect at this point, since watching your mom shoot your dad dead, then being dragged off somewhere by her in a big hurry, and then having police suddenly show up and grab her and cart ehr off and toss you and your young siblings in a strange foster home, is likely to cause some behavioral changes too.
"In the back" is not a particularly convincing argument either way -- it's just where she hit him; nothing more.
For example, she could be a cold-blooded killer, and shot him by surprise.
Or, he could have been a wife-beater who turned to run away when he saw that she had a gun.
Or, she was tired of him raping her every morning, and shot him when he headed toward the bed.
Or, she's a loon, and shot him when her crazy side took over.
Any of these, and plenty more, could explain why he was shot in the back.
I predict none of the above will occur.
Brilliant! Now if you ever took time to actually think and take a good look at the world and history you would realize that women are better treated under Christianity than any other religion slavery not being appealing to me. It is in Christian countries that the equality for women movement started not in an islamic or Buddhist or Hindu country, if you think hard enough you might even figure out why it was only in Christian countries and not anywhere else.
The husband is to love his one wife greater than himself in Christianity something not found anywhere else. Kind of hard to treat her as a prize cow when he is to love her more than himself and treat her as if they are one person, that is assuming he is actually striving to follow the teachings in the Bible.
History has as much to do with the religions that founded the societies if not more.
Good one.
