Slain Minister's Wife to Be Charged With Murder Friday, March 24, 2006 MEMPHIS, Tenn. The wife of a Tennessee pastor found shot dead in his house Wednesday will face first-degree murder charges, authorities announced Friday.
Mary Winklerwas found Thursday night with the couple's three daughters in Orange Beach, Ala., about 400 miles south of their home in Selmer.
Investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said she was interviewed during the night and the charges were being prepared.
"We've interviewed her and she was cooperative," said Jennifer Johnson of the TBI, adding that once a warrant with the charges was drawn up, extradition proceedings would begin to have her returned to Tennessee.
Matthew Winkler was found shot to death in the bedroom of his parsonage Wednesday by church members who began searching for him after he failed to show up at an evening event at Selmer's Church of Christ.
Police said there were no signs of forced entry, but Winkler's wife and children Breanna, 1; Mary Alice, 6; and Patricia, 8 were gone.

Well, I know that I am not a "clueless" fool in this area since I spent about 10 years representing numerous county "Assessors and Treasurers". I have handled numerous suits against and for said tax "assessors" and "treasurers". And I have handled an number of taxpayer appeals before both courts and equalization boards. But then again...you will discount that experience for your omnipotent knowledge and experience. But then...you have done nothing to prove that you have any better grasp on this area than my 13 year old daughter that calls me "daddy".
tenn2005, i never said a word about income taxes!, i said property taxes!...and if you really have been an accountant for 40 yrs then you would undertsand that the property tax pool is such that other property taxpayers pay more to compensate the fact that the church is being subsized by way of a PROPERTY tax exemption...i highly doubt you are an accountant, or else i wouldn't have to explain this to you
"tenn2005, you should save your addages and colloquialisms for when you have a clue what you are talking about, because most certainly on this property tax issue you (and yukong) are CLEARLY, CLEARLY out of your realm..."
As a tax accountant for over forty years I have learmed to spot tax dogers like you. Those who protest the most are usually the ones that pay the less.
Know much about RICO? If you are interested, I can email you some stuff about what i am doing to expose racketeering in the Washington State Supreme Court. It is fascinating. Have absolute proof of it.
All the more reason that 10 year olds shouldn't be allowed to play on computers.
Please do. I would love to read it. I was a state court prosecutor and we didn't get to do any RICO stuff. The US Attorney always grabbed those. But I have studied quite a bit on RICO. Let me know.
Give it up. You have proved yourself the fool. What more are you trying to accomplish?
"that the property tax pool is such that other property taxpayers pay more to compensate the fact that the church is being subsized by way of a PROPERTY tax exemption"
And the same goes for: The United Way, and The American Red Cross, and the not for profit hospital down the street, and the YMCA and...oh well, you get the point. Oh wait...no you don't.
Oh, and that 3,000,000 home owner pays more to compensate for the fact that you pay so little...and you are therefore being subsidized by way of a PROPERTY tax exemption.
tenn2005 who wrote: "As a tax accountant for over forty years I have learmed to spot tax dogers like you. Those who protest the most are usually the ones that pay the less."
...ah i see, because i resent/"protest" paying more in property taxes than i should (because the church is indirectly being subsidized by other PROPERTY taxpayers like me), therefore i must be a tax dodger??...great logic
...there is no way you are a tax accountant imo, because NO ONE should have to explain this to you
He probably lives in an apartment...maybe Section 8 to-boot.
"...there is no way you are a tax accountant imo, because NO ONE should have to explain this to you"
You have proved that your opinion is worthless.
And I'll bet the $3,000,000 home owner resents the fact that he pays more in property taxes than he should because you are indirectly being subsidized by him, and therefore he must be a tax dodger. Great logic.
tenn2005, it's getting too late for a couple of old farts like us be up at this hour. I have court in the morning...well later this morning and I must shuffle off to bed. Colt fan child will have to just simmer on this till tomorrow. Maybe by then he can come up with another absurd argument with which to entertain the masses.
"As a tax accountant for over forty years I have learmed to spot tax dogers like you. Those who protest the most are usually the ones that pay the less."
...i do pay property tax based on the assessed value of my property, the more valuable your property, the more you pay, people understand and accept that a commercial building or condo in manhattan is more than the same building or condo in a small town...the thing is your church pays nothing, zero, nadda
...and just because a church is none profit doesn't mean they should be exempt from property taxes...they pay utilities and maintainence don't they, and so they should pay taxes
As one old fart to another, Good Night and sweet Dreams
As Red Skelton used to say:
"Goodnight and God Bless."
"And I'll bet the $3,000,000 home owner resents the fact that he pays more in property taxes than he should because you are indirectly being subsidized by him..."
...and i'll bet many of those non-religious $3m home owners resent subsiding the church too...at least the guy with the $1m home is paying what his home is assessed at, whereas the church and it's members get a free ride
And to think...it took you over 12 minutes to come up with that zinger. Amazing.
txr, i never called him a pedophile in that post, i pasted a post from another site, in quotations...however, it is true that in one of my first posts on this board, i did figure (by process of elimination from police statements, etc), that there were likely only two motives for mary shooting matthew: either he was molesting his children (like many people wondered), OR his wife snapped for some unknown reason
...besides it's not like religious leaders have never been guilty of this:

""you wrote: "He that believes and is baptized shall be saved. He that believes not shall be condemned.""
No, that would be Jesus who said that( Mark 16:16) so take your argument to Him.
Why do you insist in potraying your ignorance?"
...i realized she was quoting the bible!, i was merely pointing out the teachings of your cult within that scripture
