Now hear this:
Thanks to John McCain, Free Republic will shut down tomorrow at high noon for 30 days. No non government approved electioneering messages may be transmitted over the internet for the 30 days immediately preceding a primary election.
That is all.
The above exercise was just a drill. But if John McCain has his way with his proposed rules for regulating political free speech on the internet, this is how we will be forced to operate in the coming election cycle and all election cycles in the future until we can get the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold act repealed.

If the thought of losing your right to express yourself online makes you mad, it is high time you let Senator John McCain know how you feel.

BIG 'UH-OH' PING.
UGH!
exactly.
Thanks. I am SO callling tomorrow! If I have to get a 500$ phone bill I am calling! and Calling and callin!
Marching on Washington never accomplishes anything, unless you have a talk show host along, to call the shots.
I would nominate Arsenal Hall as most effective to have around.
If nobody else, Blackjack Pershing would have been good to have along, too.
How many other sites have to shut down?????
McCain just killed any chances of Pres. bids.
OH...yeah...these same politicians that b!tch about "outsourcing" could cause US to have to outsource to Free Dominion...or some other "off shore" site.
I just pray that if that happens I get pinged...or I may go crazy!
As I understand it,
Authentic Christians (not the world counsil of churches variety) and Constitutionalists are on the RED and BLUE lists for immediate pickup and termination at the death camps . . . supposedly just prior to the declaration of martial law.
Some speculate that they are waiting until 2012 for some reason or list of reasons.
I have begun to hope that WWII has been scheduled after the Beijing Olympics.
Wish I didn't think this way.
Wish I hadn't read so much convincing evidence.
Hope I'm wrong.
Years ago, an AOL moderator on an investment board pulled a post I had made where I mentioned a competitor. With some unsolicited help, I set up a mirrored site in AOL Canada and got everyone to relocate their posts. Worked like a charm. Within days it was the most trafficked site on AOL Canada.
Someone here should set up an offshore redoubt...like tonight.
I'm off tomorrow. Guess I'll be spending some time on the phone and at my e-mail.
Why are other political Web sites such as DU allowed to remain up, but Free Republic has to come down?
JOHN MCCAIN GOT FUNDS FROM GEORGE SOROS
the article below might give you some more insight ,the website this article is posted to is david horowitz's, and the author is Richard Poe. remember him? JIM ROBINSON wrote the forward for his book "Hillary's Secret War"
John McCain Gets Soros Cash
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1360852/posts
Senator John McCain's Reform Institute has suffered some bad press recently due to its involvement in an influence-peddling scandal with Cablevision. As usual, however, mainstream media have failed to go to the root of the matter.
Founded on June 26, 2001, McCain's Reform Institute for Campaign and Election Issues has long served as a nerve center for the so-called "campaign finance reform" movement a movement which has done nothing to clean up campaign finance, but has done a great deal to empower federal judges and government bureaucrats to regulate political speech, in defiance of the Bill of Rights.
Now here's the kicker. The list of donors published on the Reform Institute's Web site reads like a veritable Who's Who of radical, leftwing foundations, including the Tides Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation of New York, the Proteus Fund and George Soros' Open Society Institute. (hat tip, Winfield Myers)
Not surprisingly, in view of the above associations, Arianna Huffington serves on the Reform Institute's Advisory Board. Huffington has long acted as a front for George Soros' "campaign finance reform" efforts. In 2000, she organized the so-called Shadow Conventions which provided John McCain with a bully pulpit to stump for his now-infamous McCain-Feingold Act. George Soros shouldered about one third of the cost of the Shadow Conventions.
That's not the only vote you could lose

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic senator-elect from New York, pledged yesterday to join in the fight in the US Senate to abolish the Electoral College, the body that formally chooses the president in the December following the election.
Excuse my ignorance - what primary election?
I can't stand that site... I understand FreeRepublic.com and basic HTML, but I haven't a clue how to navigate through that FR Yahoo contingency site... >:-(
Jim, if this is really you posting this, prove it somehow. I cannot believe this is the way you would announce this.
Put it up on the home page if it is really you, not just in the forum, plus give us a more detailed reason why. Is it McCain/Feingold? How is it being applied? Dies it matter if the primary is in CA, or does it apply to any primary/general election nationwide since this is a nationwide forum?
And if it is you, what do you want us to do to help?
this is a hypothetical, right now.
This is something that both DU and FR should agree on - if we're effed, they're effed too.
