You're kidding, right? If not, there's no reason to do this just to make a point. I'm sure Freepers (including myself) would gladly raise any legal fees incurred, and we can make our point that way while remaining online.

McCain isn't funny. He's never been funny. He has always struck me as mentally unbalanced. He belongs in an asylum, or a cage. Maybe the NV Chicom's had it right.

I don't know if you are joking or not, but you may be absolutely right.

The Washington insiders want nothing else but to shut down descent by conservatives.

It would not be beyond some RINO's to throw the MSM a big Internet bone by shutting down what the MSM sees as their only competition for real news.

Conservatives have been sold out before so I don't have much trust in our so called representative government to do the right thing.

Shutting down the blogs and web sites like Free Republic would definitely hurt the conservatives more than the extremists left wing liberals.

The extremists have the MSM to carry their dirty water if their not around to make false accusations.

I see this as an assault on my free speech rights and sure don't like what is coming down the political tracks.

I do believe that it make take a full scale march on Washington to get this halted before we lose all our rights to complain about the government.

Spend those 30 days stocking up on your ammo, folks, you might need it sooner than you think.

Wouldn't the proper thing to do be to wait until the FEC were to issue a specific fine or ruling against FR in order to challenge the law in court.

But but there are some who are seeking to modify the draconian measures...

"The Federal Election Commission on Thursday said it was delaying a decision on whether political weblogs should be considered "public communications" and so subject to funding limitations,"...

This would be one time...that I wouldn't mind protesting to Capitol Hill with a lib or two (so long as they stay on their side of the protest, doncha know).
