Ya'll got me remembering Second-Grade Dog - one of my favorite books to read aloud when the kids were little. It was about a mutt named Bones, who, when he gets lonely visits the local school but eventually gets discovered. He made friends while there and then has fun with the kids after school. It is a "spoof on grown-ups in general and officials in particular".
Our dog frequently 'went to school' and even participated in a production about The Wizard of Oz as Toto. Local news carried a piece, and most of the footage was OF THE DOG!! LOL! He's 15 now, but you'd never really know it. He gets so excited to ride to school-takes three steps and a jump, all the way to the car! I can't stand the thought of losing him. I really feel for you, Dolly. I'm not at all looking forward to the day we lay him to rest. For such a little dog, it will leave a very big empty space in our family. Cup half full- we were very thankful he made it thru boot camp!!
There's a dog that roams the halls of my FIL's nursing home. Such a sweet thing, but a tad fat! LOL!
I'll have to check that book out for my daughter. Sounds really cute. :)
