Term limits are a terrible idea. They ensure EVERY politician has one full lame duck term where they can do whatever they want as they aren't accountable to the voter next election. And when we actually do find and elect a good representative, term limits prohibits us from keeping him in office. The framers of the Constitution considered term limits and rejected them. As do I. There are things that are broken and dishonest incumbents are too hard to dislodge. So let's fix what's broken without shooting ourselves in the foot.
Oh my. If we're getting to go back to the Framer's --- let's go back ALL the way and not just conveniently for you: do away with electing senators by popular vote.
Your lame duck premise is faulty: it's presumes that they will ALL be rascals if term limited. Not so. GOOD people who have to return to the private sector just might be better officeholders and have an interest in HONOR, DUTY and accountability above personal gain, sweetheart pensions and other perks.
