Hi Everyone! Thank you all so much for your support of Ken Blackwell. We are completing our statewide campaign team, and we need your help to fill a few positions in your counties. We are looking for a County Chair in the following counties:

Adams, Coshocton, Defiance, Erie, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Lawrence, Madison, Meigs, Monroe, Nobel, Paulding, Perry, Pike, Trumbull, Union, Van Wert, Vinton, Wayne

If you know of anyone in these counties who can act as our volunteer county campaign chair, please, please let us know! The Campaign Chair is about a five hour a week job, that basically acts as a contact for us in each county. If you have more time, we can definitely use all the help you can give us as well! Our goal is to have these positions filled within a week.

Thank you again and please let us know if you can help or if you have any leads at all on people who would be good in these positions! Thanks, Chris

Chris Beardmore

I'm in Guernsey County, but not in the county enough to do any good.

Many of these counties are in east-central Ohio where I think it will be toughest to get any Republican elected with the economies locally.

These counties are in southeast OH and are not fond of blacks.

We are talking about the OH border with WV and KY and it is the fringe of appallacia.

I wouldn't say that. Just because we are all a bunch of country hicks (not really), that doesn't make us intolerant.

I think he'll get more support down there than we realize.

I live on the edge of SE Ohio Appalachia. There might be 10 blacks in my entire town. They're simply not welcome. I still hear the n-word daily around here. It's sad. I told a couple of neighbors that I was backing Blackwell and "they looked at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears".

Yeah, Ripley OH is a weird place. If you didn't know better, you'd think you were in Kentucky or something with all the kids hanging out on weekends smoking in public and all. Wait a minute. Kentucky is just over the hill on US25!

Actually, it was a pretty nice place.

Isn't Mr. Blackwell that little twerp in the bow tie who provides us with snide remarks concerning celebrity fashion?

That's why appalachia doesn't have many blacks.....anywhere. They aren't welcome, and the people there will tell them so to their faces and will walk the talk if they feel it is the only way to get their point across.

Thankfully, the populations of those counties are small enough that it shouldn't hurt Blackwell too much.

"These counties are in southeast OH and are not fond of blacks. We are talking about the OH border with WV and KY and it is the fringe of appallacia."

Right, that's Sen. Robert (KKK) Byrd's terrority. But still, the fact is that Mr. Blackwell will sweep those counties over a tax-and-spend, American-basher like Stickland.
