"Effective" enough to cause someone to believe you are a peace officer?

Doesn't matter if they believe it or not.

According to your logic, I can put Mickey Mouse ears on my door and write "Disney Police" over top of it and that would be enough to get me charged.

Sorry, but that's not the way the statute you quoted me is written.

Are you sure you are a lawyer? Or do you just play one in college?

I am a lawyers, and of course it matters - you (negligently or on purpose) are not quoting the last part of the statute: ". . . fraudulently inducing the belief that he or she is a peace officer . . ."
