"Surveillance cameras are coming to the City of Vista. The City purchased the $20,000 system to assist the sheriff's department in 'identifying suspects involved in illegal activities.'"

What's the over/under on when we read the headline here: "Surveillance Cameras Stolen"

Information

The City of Vista has purchased a new Surveillance Camera to assist the San Diego Sheriff's Department in identifying suspects involved in illegal activities within the city of Vista. This new technology is mobile and can be installed at any location. The device uses high speed, high resolution cameras to zoom in on suspects as they commit crimes. This information is transmitted to the Sheriff's Department 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The video is saved on a digital video recorder for review by Sheriff's Department personnel.

Sheriff's officials in the Vista Station will use this system to better identify and prosecute suspects involved in all types of criminal activity. The Sheriff's Department will deploy the system immediately and focus first on Narcotics, Gang, and Graffiti crimes. The system's cost, over $20,000, was provided through the "Weed and Seed" Grant.

What would we do with pictures of future illegals?

We don't have pictures of the 30million or so who are already here now.

Is this some kind of Democrat trick?

Seems to me, Big Brother is asleep at the switch and not likely to wake up any time soon.

Any clue where Vista's Weed and Seed sites are? That's where I assume the camera's should be placed.

Found it:

The target area of the Vista Weed and Seed site is the area known as “Townsite”. The Townsite neighborhood is bordered by Escondido Ave, E. Vista Way. Bobier Dr., N. Melrose Dr., and (roughly) Lado de Loma Dr. Townsite is a densely populated area whose residents face social and economic challenges. The Weed and Seed program provides the framework for strategies aimed at improving the quality of life for Townsite residents.
