Let me tell you about another member - Rick Garcia, Equality Illinois. He is a practicing Catholic, as am I.

Garcia, political director of Equality Illinois, a homosexual lobby group, has sat on the Commission for several years--while simultaneously building up a track record of demonizing traditionalist Christians using smear techniques honed by a homosexual activist movement that equates religious opponents with vile racists.
Garcia's name-calling and disrespect toward opposing viewpoints would seem to put him at odds with the stated purposes of the Commission, established by Gov. George Ryan in 1999: "to educate and foster acceptance and tolerance" and "further uproot sources of discrimination and bias."
Recently, Garcia meanly described organizers of the Protect Marriage Illinois (PMI) campaign--which seeks to place a referendum on the ballot in November calling on the General Assembly to constitutionally define marriage as one-man, one-woman--as "rank bigots."
