"I read the alert about three times, not believing they meant 48,000 BOXES. I thought they must mean 48,000 documents. But it said "48K boxes"."

Probably they were just excited along the lines of:

Need to get to work right now. 1st is to advertise the heck out of this news so everyone expects the documents tomorrow. That will pressure the CIA into some kind of action (if they don't act promptly, start the pressure on Capital Hill).

Why blame Iran? The Pentagon has reported several times that it has intercepted military-grade explosives (shaped charges) from trucks crossing into Iraq from Iran. They believe that Iran's military was involved in manufacturing these bombs. These bombs rip right through our most "up-armored" vehicles, killing our soldiers.

In fact, I just found this news article: Bush ties Iran to deadly Iraq bombs:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20060313/pl_afp/usiraqbushiran

Again, that article is here.

"This release is only being done to distract from _________________________.
Insert moonbat scandal which will bring down the Bush Adminstration of the day into the line above."

This release is only being done to distract from Karl Rove jaywalking.

Read today on a thread rating was down to 33%. This release may not be an accident.

Yeah, it's always a good idea to put your faith in dubious poll numbers. Besides, Bush has never been a slave to polls. It's why he doesn't twist in the wind like your average democratic politician.

Neither am I. He blew it hiring Paul O'Neil, he let the CIA and State Dept run amok far too long before sending in Goss and Condi to at least attempt a fix. He has only jawboned border enforcement to this point, just like all the politicians before him, and he signed that ridiculous McCain Feingold POS.

He has his weak points, but being as stupid as the dems or the GOP Prez wannabees isn't one of them.

I think you may have been measuring wrong.

If you took each box side to side at 10" wide (not end to end) you would get approx. 6,336 boxes to the mile. Divide 48,000 by 6,336 gives you over 7.5 miles of boxes side by side.

There is probably no more than 1,000 pages per box which would give us a total of 48,000,000 pages.

If you had 50 people translating 24/7 with a typed translation taking 30 minutes per page it would take 1,000,000 days or 2740 years to translate all of the material.

This could be one reason that this is to be released on the internet.

I don't put my faith in polls and I know the president doesn't either. It was a mere comment about the lowest figure to come out so far. I am not a Bush basher.

I thought he'd wait util the year 2525.

Cuz you know, in the year 2525, ain't gonna tell no truth, tell no lies. (But statutorily, they'd have to be released in 2028.)

It's my understanding that they're raw data, untranslated and all.

Thx.

This is one way of getting it all translated in a hurry, instead of the CIA taking a dozen years to get around to maybe thinking about what we might get to see.

This reminds me of the old philosophical question:

"If you had a million congressmen at a million typewriters, each one churning out a page of law per minute, how long would it be before you found a page that made sense?"

I couldn't agree more and have thought so for a long time now. Bush has put a collective noose around the democrat party by letting them rant on about the Iraq war and, in time, the trap will be opened and the dem's are history for another generation.

Hillary is going to be the least of the dem's problems, they are all going to have to scramble for their own political lives and will find that they are too late with too little.

Have faith, Bush & Co., has been ahead of these POS appeasers and traitors for years and their time is almost up.
