Fairview Heights has not been hit yet with the storm. It is dying down east of STL right now.
Most of the danger is above STL and below STL at this point
A work of art unto itself. Thanks.
Ladies and gentlmen, I believe I shall toss in the towel and retire. Enjoyed all of your company at both weather threads tonight.
Staying up late/early had another purpose to it... if a violent tornado had hit my home, I would have been in the basement in as little as 3 seconds, due to the close proximity of the basement door and my PC. Good night all!

"Tornadoes rip Midwest; watch issued for Fox Valley"
staff and wire reports
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Severe storms across the Midwest on Sunday packed winds that knocked over airplanes, ripped roofs off homes and spawned tornadoes that killed three people.
In the Fox Valley, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch which extended until 4 a.m. today and included Kane and DeKalb counties. A hazardous weather outlook covered Kendall, Will and LaSalle counties as well. However, an evening check with area police and sheriff's departments showed nothing more severe than steady rain."
Stay safe all.
Thank you bd476.
Goodnight Earthdweller.
Sorry for leaving you in the dark. Lincoln is on I 55, at mile markers 123, 126, and 133. It is halfway between Springfield and Bloomington. Chicago is 3 hours NE, by auto, and St.Louis is 2 hours SW, by auto, from Lincoln. Peoria is 60 miles to the NW, and Decatur is 45 miles to the SE.
Good night everyone. Enjoyed your company, one and all... AND, let's face it, the weather was not going to get the drop on any of us tonight!
You're welcome Cindy. It's frightening watching these tornado warnings pop up with family and friends in the area.
Goodnight freepersup.
I understand.
This Calif. girl prefers good old-fashioned earthquakes
over tornadoes, that's for sure.
