Jeb Bush ruined his chances with his failure in the Terri Schiavo case.

"Also true about McCain, who wanted to "close the gun show" loophole in response to September 11"
McCain is a turd, as is Rudy, the "Liberals in Drag" can forget about trying to promote them here, nobody is buying it.
Liberal in drag = pretend to be Conservative to get Republicans to support a total loser like Rudy or McInsane.
I like Allen so far, and will support him unless something changes.

I am disappointed that Allen's organization couldn't get it's act together enough to bus 500 supporters in from Virgnina under cover of darkness and snake a victory from the failed, incompetent, neophyte Frist who never voted until 1988.
Still, kudos to him for talking about the issues the base wants to hear about - spending, immigration, etc.

I agree Haley would be a great candidate. He's got a good sense of humor, too. He was recently asked while visiting the Hill about speculation he may be entering the race.
His replied - 'That's just reflective of the weakness of the field.' Excellent.
Anyway, his major issue is having been a lobbyist. I wonder if he ever had to register for lobbying for a foreign nation?

Allen might be the most conservative candidate in 2008.
I will NEVER EVER vote for someone like Romney or Rudy.
I will NOT vote for any canidate for president who supports abortion or gun control.
If someone is not social conservative, then they will not get my vote.

There goes George Allen, once again using football metaphors, even though he never played. I noticed his web site shows him holding a football. I guess he hopes people will think that he, not his father, was a famous football coach. He played football in high school and college.
In college he suffered a knee injury and that ended his career.

Yes you are correct ... I don't think any of the crop of Repbs are pro-2nd ... this will be a bleak '08 election I fear.

He's a marshmallow. Okay, you win the trophy for the dumb@$$ statement of the week.
I don't care if you don't like him. That's your problem.
But if you think he's a "marshmallow" you're simply misinformed.
Still, this time you spelled "marshmallow" correctly. So there's hope for you yet.

I see a lot of people are for Allen and he seems to have the right thinking on illegal aliens but I heard he is not too strong on the Second Amendment. Can someone enlighten me on that? You have heard incorrectly. There are a couple of stories going around from people who will never be satisifed that a candidate or politician actually thinks something through.
See this post from last year regarding the Assault Weapons Ban.
P8riot can clarify this, but I also believe there was concern last year over a vote regarding allowing gun manufacturers to be sued. If not that it was another 2nd Amendment issue.
On the surface it looked as though Allen was anti-2nd Amendment in his vote, and the usual suspects were up in arms (so to speak). But when you looked at the bill, his reason for voting against it was that Feinswine inserted an amendment to reauthorize the Assault Weapons Ban.
Bottom line, when you have the facts you won't have to worry about George Allen and the 2nd Amendment.

I should have read all the posts before asking about Allens 2nd Amendment stance. I should have read all the posts before I responded to your post...

There goes George Allen, once again using football metaphors, even though he never played. He was the quarterback on the UVA football team. Doesn't that count? Heck I'm a Hokie and I think that counts.
True, he never played pro ball. And he never said he did.
His father however, was one of the NFL's great coaches.

Right Sonny, these guys sure have a lot of opinions but not many correct facts to back them up. Then some throw around these catchy, misspelled, phrases like "marshmallow"
