I see a lot of people are for Allen and he seems to have the right thinking on illegal aliens but I heard he is not too strong on the Second Amendment. Can someone enlighten me on that?

You have heard incorrectly. There are a couple of stories going around from people who will never be satisifed that a candidate or politician actually thinks something through.

See this post from last year regarding the Assault Weapons Ban.

P8riot can clarify this, but I also believe there was concern last year over a vote regarding allowing gun manufacturers to be sued. If not that it was another 2nd Amendment issue.

On the surface it looked as though Allen was anti-2nd Amendment in his vote, and the usual suspects were up in arms (so to speak). But when you looked at the bill, his reason for voting against it was that Feinswine inserted an amendment to reauthorize the Assault Weapons Ban.

Bottom line, when you have the facts you won't have to worry about George Allen and the 2nd Amendment.

Corin is correct. Allen is very pro 2nd amendment and very tough on crime.

It was on his watch that Virginia became a "shall issue" state. Meaning that individuals that are not legally prohibited from carrying a weapon shall be issued a concealed weapons permit without having to justify the request to any state or local administrator.

Also "Project Exile" became law in Richmond under Allen's governance. Simply stated, if you are legally prohibited from carrying (or owning) a gun and are caught with one, you will do a minimum of 5yrs in a federal prison guaranteed. The program was so successful it became law statewide under his successor, Jim Gilmore.

The issue concerning his vote against the lawsuit protection act in 2004 was because Diane Feinstein poison pilled it with an "Assault Weapon" ban extension. He voted in favor of the 2nd amendment when he voted against it.
