Feingold Calls for Bush's Censure
ABC News, "This Week" Sunday Show ^ | March 12, 2006 | Ed O'Keefe

March 12, 2006— In an exclusive interview on "This Week with George Stephanopoulos," Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold called on the Senate to publicly admonish President Bush for approving domestic wiretaps on American citizens without first seeking a legally required court order.

"This conduct is right in the strike zone of the concept of high crimes and misdemeanors," said Feingold, D-Wis., a three-term senator and potential presidential contender.

I watched it and Feingold uses the word "reasonable" in every sentence to cover the fact he is a left wing wacko. Only Senator to vote against Patriot Act. Steph was begging Feingold to impeach Bush rather than censure (a constitutional impossibility for a senator). It was a love fest.

Then Frist came on and Steph grilled him, acting incredulous that censuring the president in the war on terror could weaken us abroad.

When you don't slam the leftists down and embarrass them for their extremism, they will steadily make things worse and worse.

for approving domestic wiretaps on American citizens

Senator, let's at least get the wording of the "censure" correct. Feingold wants to censure the President of the US for:

approving domestic wiretaps on al Qaeda calls to and from the USA

Now, Senator Feingold, let's take that "censure" to the American people for their input.

Please, please, please try it democrats.

Nothing says WEAK ON SECURITY more than punishing a President for trying to protect the country from al qaeda operatives. Every left leaning, distorted poll says says the citizens are behind the President on this issue. The democrat pollsters can't even mask it by phrasing it "domestic spying"

This would be a gift to the Republican party.

You should spend more time worrying about your "current" marriage, Senator. After all, is your current wife your 3rd or 4th???

Maybe his current wife should spy on him. ;)

He's a nasty one too.

Every bit as nasty as Schumer but disguises his bile better.

Do they ignore it because it doesn't have the votes or do they actively fight it to keep it from influencing the midterms?

Since it looks as though Feinstein had this written for her by Karl Rove, I think they should embrace it. I'm surprised she fell for it so easily. They just need to add gun control and abortion rights up to the third trimester and they have a complete campaign platform.

My tagline sums it up.

He's an idiot.

When are Republican senators going to start balling up and attacking the character and exposing people like this?

They just take it and don't respond because of the press.

I'd donate the maximum allowed to the first senator that pointed out that Ted Kennedy was a murderer in a public forum.

I mean that.

If there's a lesson here, its that W should've vetoed McC-Feingold when he had the chance.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!

Thank you Democrats. After such a horrible week dealing with this stupid ports deal (A big victory for ignorance) it wasn't clear to me how Republicans would regain the high road on security. Then, along comes Feingold. What a gift! Maybe Rove put him up to it? ;-)

"Exactly when, where and to whom was this "crime" committed, Russ old boy?"

Why, he is a Republican, isn't that criminal enough?!!! ;-)

Somewhere out there, there must be an audience for this petty political backbiting; but, I just don't get it. Isn't there something more meaningful that these idiots can be doing for their constituencies?
