Tony had seemed pretty ticked at the President this morning, wondered if the Pres had 'redeemed" himself in Tony's eyes! ;>) I don't think Tony was ticked .. concerned about certain issues .. but I would not say he was ticked

You shouldn't have held back... you should've told them how you really felt.

Sofa...I still see those Palestinians dancing as well...and I have expressed OUTRAGE when I see threads about support for them...
BUT, just like you can't take responsibility for what GERMANS do...I don't think that the people of Dubai should take the blame for what Palestinians did.

Did i say it was the sole reason? Ever? Nope. Never did...we've talked about this for weeks now and I've given my reasons several times.
It's 8 months to the '06 elections and you've already given up. This is yesterday's news...there is ample time for the Dems to shoot themselves in the foot, which they will do repeatedly long before the '06 elections, let alone '08.
Lastly, "the Osama has won argument", is purile at best. We're still in Iraq, certainly Republican support for the mission and the troops has not decreased or been compromised, we're still being forceful with Iran, we're still in Afghanistan, we're still searching for Osama, he's still a pariah worldwide, our alliances with our allies are still strong..what kind of a statement is that? The UAE didn't get to run 6 terminals and Osama won? That's ridiculous.
About as ridiculous as calling everyone that objected to the port deal, a racist.

Hey Sofa! The racism card is a pretty lame argument...that's the best they got? You'd think how some are taking it personally that maybe they had something to make off the deal.
Yeah... like the lives of sons/daughters/husbands/wifes who are FOR the deal becuase they aren't blinded by racism and have a bit of perspective into exactly who the UAE are, and how VITAL they are in the WoT.

"Liberals obviously didn't intend for the abandonment of traditional values to lead to an aids epidemic, rampant teen-age pregnancy, the destruction of two-parent families, an explosion of child abuse and child poverty, increasing coarseness in popular culture and horrific street violence. But it has."
What a great quote; says it all in two sentences.

right about what? The a UAE controlled company running 6 terminals, or about the opponents of that deal being racists?
If it's the former, they may be. I just wanted to see how this wouldn't affect homeland security.
If it's the latter, I will reject that catagorically. All I did was disagree. That doesn't make me a racist.

LOL! EC - totally agree w you!
BTW - I have Rush on now and he's got clips from a bunch of shows/reporters this a.m. saying that Bush asked the UAE to pull the port deal so it wouldn't affect him politically!
Can you believe it????!!! They didn't want the deal now they're saying this - what a bumch of sc*mbags!

You have to think through changes before you jump. You must look at the rippling effect of any change. If you don't, you end up addressing the symptom not the root cause. This is the story of Washington politicians; they address the symptoms and not the cause of issues. And unfortunately, more times than not their solution is to add another layer of bureaucracy!
