Hawaii to Become “Baby Killing Center of Pacific”
LifeSite ^ | March 9, 2006 | Terry Vanderheyden

HONOLULU, March 9, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Hawaii has passed legislation to allow abortion as an in-office medical procedure as well as waiving a mandatory 90-day residency period, prompting one commentator to dub the island state as the “baby killing center of the Pacific.”

“While high-profile media attention has been focused on South Dakota’s effort to outlaw abortion, Hawaii is quietly set to become the baby killing center of the Pacific,” said Judie Brown, president of American Life League.

House Bill 1242 is predicted to pass Hawaii's state house this week and then proceed to almost certain passage in the state senate. This bill allows abortions to be performed in any doctor's office; current law requires it to be done in a hospital. Also, this bill would remove the 90-day residency period for a woman obtaining an abortion in Hawaii. Although an effort to expand legal abortion to include viable as well as non-viable babies was defeated in the house, senators may try to re-insert that provision in the bill.

“The combined effect of all of these changes will be to make Hawaii one of the quickie-abortion capitals of the world,” said Brown. “One can envision mothers flying in from the continental United States, Japan and many other countries to have abortions performed in storefronts. Under this bill, baby killing facilities will be as numerous as pineapple stands as unscrupulous quacks seek to make money from the deaths of children.”

“We urge Hawaii’s state legislators to reject House Bill 1242 and any similar legislation,” Brown emphasized. “If this bill does make it through the legislature, it is critical for Gov. Linda Lingle to veto it. The eyes of the pro-life world are on Hawaii this week as people pray for the children there and put on hold any future Hawaiian vacation plans.”

ironically, abortion can be easier to get than contraception.

Indeed, such was the case in the former Soviet Union, where various studies found that the average woman had had between 9 and 11 eleven abortions. So much for abortion causing sterility. In that case, it was simply that the government preferred to spend all its money building missiles and paying KGB agents to trail people around. Odd that Japan isn't meeting consumer demand for contraceptives.

We just came back from a month in Hawaii and the people there are SO fanatical about their whales and seals. Shame they don't see the folly of their illogical actions. Kill
a baby but don't you dare even think about disturbing a
wild critter. Sigh.

I'm quite sure that the majaority of the states will not keep laissez-faire abortion; most will significantly restrict it.

Fifty out of fifty states had laws protrecting the child en ventre sa mere before Roe vs Wade. Fifty out of fifty. All these laws --- representing an amazing political near-consensus --- were struck down by Supreme Court diktat

At that time, some people argued that legal abortion would eliminate out-of-wedlock childbearing, eliminate child abuse ("every child a wanted child"), and curb abortion-related mortality, and that abortion would be a rare occurrence mostly in heartbreaking cases.

Now, 33 years later, we know that that was all a huge mistake. Out-of-wedlock births have soared; child abuse is far worse now than it was in the 1950's and '60's; maternal deaths from legal abortion have replaced deaths from illegal abortion one-for-one; and far from being rare, abortion has snuffed almost 50 million who would today be American citizens aged newborn - 33.

We know too much now to tolerate abortion "at any time, by anyone, for any reason or no reason at all."

Most states will restrict. Mark my words.

Well if that's what Hawaii wants....

And if Virginia and North Carolina want slavery?

This is what I don't understand...everyone here wants Roe v. Wade to be overturned...and go back to the States. The majority of states will keep it legal...what then happens to your mission?

The "mission" has always been twofold:

1) Be diligent in getting rid of baby-killing laws on both the federal and state level, and most importantly ---

2) Be diligent in working to turn the hearts of parents to their children, both born and unborn.

Japan has had legal abortion since 1948; its abortion rate tends to be high, since ironically, abortion can be easier to get than contraception.

You are correct regarding Japan.

Japan also has shrines where women visit and leave little dolls representing the babies that were murdered. It is their only means of dealing with what they have done since Japan does not know Christ - therefore atonement for sins is non-existent.

Japan also has an extremely high suicide rate among young women. They go out into the forest and kill themselves.

This is a complete perversion of the native Polynesian culture, which practically worships children. If you want to see what the culture is really like, hop a plane to the Samoan Islands down south, half of which are still a US Territory. Big families, kids running all over the place without fear. And no abortionists.

So to put it simply, abortion = "baby killing". Here's an interesting question for y'all: Was abortion legal in the U.S. when our dear Constitution was written?

Early term abortions are very common in Japan and have been since the end of WWII, as a result there's a large "D&C" industry there. While condoms are widely available, hormonal birth control was kept off the market until the mid 1990s by the abortion industry, which lobbied against it as "unsafe". It's still pretty rare to find a doctor who will prescribe them.

Going back to the real fight.. which is changing the hearts and minds of the people in that state. Not having 9 ruling justices who sit there for 30 years tell us what to do.

Japan does not know Christ

Depends on where you go. In Nagasaki, about 5-10% of the population is Roman Catholic. Hard to compete with the state religion (Shinto) however...

At the rate they're going, the Japanese will abort and contracept themselves out of existence before 2200.

Oh! I know the answer to this one! Yes, until the "time of quickening". The first laws against abortion didn't start appearing until the 1820s.

Hmmm, I wonder which "thousand" got it removed by the moderator.

What do you think? Maybe a dead baby is too graphic (which I also find disgusting...but who doesn't) Except that our legal system doesn't define those pictures as "babies". Maybe pictures of a bloody "medical procedures" are a taboo no no.

It's very difficult to argue a crime without the body of evidence or what evidence is left behind.

Maybe thats how criminals can escape with a "deny everything" Stalinist tactic.

You may argue your case, but you may not use any evidence or images of violent evidence that prove the crime.

In that case, I'll just post the words. Probably won't have the same effect. The only Word that has had everlasting effect didn't come from a key board or pen, but from the very mouth of God, and from Jesus when He said, "this is my body," and "this is my blood".

The "mission" has always been to convert hearts to the Life of Christ. It still continues to be the mission today.

Now that "4-D" technology can "see" into the womb, the public is getting a very clear understanding of what abortion is all about. It's no longer a barely recognizable post-aborted amorphous blob of blood in a jar, but a visually accepted moving, breathing, live baby in the womb that becomes a murder victim

Whether abortion is legally banned or defended the way American Slavery was defended unto death upon the battlefield, pro-abortion people will abort and euthanize their population into obscurity. Their numbers are already meaningless and cannot command a national/federal mandate. The justice is as ironic and poetic as anti-establishment entertainers/musicians who suffer the most from Internet file swapping...and then demand protection from very established government authority into whose eyes they've been spitting (perhaps this is why lady justice wears a blindfold...to keep the saliva out).

The purification process is to squeeze out the errors of the Culture of Death from the rest of society who is not yet completely aware of (or chooses to ignore) the seeds of misdeeds the pro-abort crowd would sow. Murdering the unborn finds unlikely cronies from those who'd have nothing to do with pregnant women; thus, homosexuals and drug addicts find pro-aborts strange yet comforting bed fellows. Thus, Pro-Life continues to defend the Natural Family not only from abortion, but also the wayward disobedience and twisted logic that the Culture of Death would implant onto our children's young fertile minds (homosexuality, drug abuse, atheist/Communist socialism, Tyranny of Relativism which forces the acceptance of and slavery under obvious evils like radical fundamentalism).

Why does the Culture of Death do this? Because this wicked crowd (like pro-aborts that render their mutilated reproductive organs infertile) cannot produce children for themselves. They will never replace their numbers unless it's by robbing from Natural Families. The Natural Family provides real social security, and it stands in stark contrast to the failing tax payer funded social welfare programs.

In other words, playing the contraception card, which is clearly against procreation, means that Chelsea has to provide for both her parents Hillary and Bill. Who has become the slave to greed for the promises of fleeting orgasmic pleasures and the depreciating value of wealth?

Would one honestly believe that children of hedonist parents will grow to become loving, selfless adults providing their life's earning and allow baby boomers to continue the reckless life?

Now maybe some have been guaranteed a lifetime retirement for a past job, but how many parents have such a retirement package funded entirely by tax payers (even if the worker actually did a stellar job and never broke the law or betrayed his country)?

Why would one gamble with a heavily burdened child's heart to love abusive parents with enough strength as to provide for their aging/dying health...

...or might the hard-hearted child grow too tired of the medical costs with a, "Screw it! I never did like mom/dad that much anyway. I have my own happiness to think about." After all, isn't this what hedonism imparts?

If a child is brainwashed into the fell good of a quick high, orgasmic rush, consequence free lifestyle, and invited to indulge in guiltless fleshly pleasures, then why for a moment would that person consider their parents' desires which are far less important?

How does a society get to this position? When individuals unite upon the hedonistic lies that abandon Spirituality for the pleasures of the flesh, then this weak society elects "strong" leaders to enforce slavery of the general society's will forcing it to host parasitic behavior. The history of the Russian people devolving into a Stalinist Soviet State proves this. Lenin promised that everyone could get as high (drunk on vodka) and as laid (abortion on demand) as they wanted with no consequences or guilt. What the Russians received was Stalin and Soviet Gulags.

There is no defense for the Culture of Death. Ignoring such facts proves either willful ignorance or wicked intent.

What happens to our mission? To avail our prayers and sacrifices so that the wicked may not die in a state of sin, but be released from the grip of evil. Even this has become a battlefield now that the dying can be judicially denied Last Rites. Thank God He invented Purgatory, for He has both the First words of creation as well as Last word of Judgment.

(Terri Schiavo starved by her abusive husband...isn't it ironic that Michael's mustache and hair cut looks like Stalin who starved the Ukraine to feed his own hedonist/atheist agenda).

What a nice place to visit. Hawaii can do better than having to resort to killing babies as a major industry attraction. How disgusting this is.
