"And based on the types of "disaffected" theater majors I have known, it's not at all surprising that some would act out like this. It also supports my supposition that there's a "goth" influence for at least one of them."
Gasp! Another Huge Surprise! Not that it's MySpace's fault, but it certainly seems to show up in a lot of teen crime stories lately.
Perhaps they should change their motto: "Helping Whackjob Miscreants Find Each Other!"
You thought all along it was white young men, didn't you...
I majored in drama in college...when I pledged Alpha Phi Omega (a service fraternity related to the boy scouts), one of my instructors told me I might as well quit the drama department right then. It took me three semesters, but when a director of one of the plays told me I had the lead in the Glass Menagerie", I thought things might work out. But then she made it pretty clear she expected things personally from me that I wasn't willing to give.
There were a couple of nice folks in the drama department I was a part of, but the rest, including the instructors, were some seriously messed-up individuals. I always thought it was interesting that when they couldn't make it in the drama department, many of the students changed their majors to psych.
I ended up being a registered nurse and now the only time my drama history is used is when I'm reading to the jedis in the evening! Heh heh!
What shocks me is that they claimed to be in the area spotlighting deer.
I mean, theater majors from BSC know anything about spotlighting deer???
