Recommend Moonlite BBQ in Owensboro, KY. Or try Dreamland (Ain't nothin like em - Nowhere!) in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Cannot forget Wolf's BBQ over in Evansville on First Avenue. I last ate there back in November before Thanksgiving. I left Colorado Springs about 5am (Evansville time) on Sat morning, got to Evansville and got to Wolf's about 15 minutes before they closed at 10pm. Their buffet was closed so I ordered off the menu. It was pretty good. I have to admit, the buffet is not as good as an order from the kitchen.
Wolf's has been well known for years. I went to college at U. of Evansville from F'85 to F'89. I didn't discover the place until my Sophomore year when one of the guys in the dorm took me there. After that, I was hooked !
They sell their sauce locally there. I usually pick up several bottles when I stop and visit to take home with me. Their sauce is "thin" and it has some chili powder in it.

I like Dreamland.
But Archibald's, in Northport, beats it by far. The best sauce I ever got outside of, and the ribs are almost perfect. Woodrow's (owned by the same family and with the same sauce) is also great. But avoid Archibald's and Woodrow's on Highway 43. It's good, but it's not as good as the other two. I cannot comment on Archibald's 2, as I haven't eaten there since they moved from Cottondale, but they used to be excellent.
