Ah!!! Tchaikowski's Pathetique!! Profound beyond words.....YES!

The first time I heard it was at JFK's funeral. I was 14, and the music gripped my soul.

I don't know about, "greatest," but I've always found this piece to be incredibly versatile....it's perfectly appropriate for stirring one awake in the morning, or falling asleep to at night; it's a comfrotable fit at funerals and weddings alike. It sells lightbulbs, celibrates victories and consoles defeats...

Maybe not perfect, but certainly divinely inspired.

After hearing Luciano Pavarotti sing Nessun Dorma at the Olympics I ordered a CD of tenor arias from Amazon.

It came this morning; I've listened to N.D. 3 times; and I think I have a new contender.
