One winter, I drove (rode) halfway across Lake Erie to one of the islands and back. Yes, drove! In an ice car- oh, a wild ride. An ice car is stripped of everything not necessary to make it light. The 'road' is marked with small trees/large branches. It is a very precarious thing to do and the risk is great yet the trip was glorious in those moments I was able to breathe. A few years after, some childhood friends of mine went in and did not survive.

WOW, I am impressed if you were able to drive across the lake..or drive on it at all.. I have NEVER seen it drivable.. maybe with a tank? I have seen the lake frozen quite a distance many times & it was always ROUGH .. very rough. Can't even imagine a jeep or ATV doing it.. but what do I know about those things.. not much!
to work!
