Amazing. The one time George would use the veto is to give his conservative base the finger. He wouldn't veto McCain-Feingold. He wouldn't veto a staggering pile of pork-barrel projects. But he'll veto those who would hold him to his "Fight any nation or regime who supports or harbors terrorists." rhetoric.

I'm aghast.

Well, I predict that he will not use the veto on this one, because "something" will prevent the sale of the company. But in any event, as much as I admire the president, he is still a "politician." so let's see what he does.

My thought exactly......this man who never even utters the word veto, who never saw a bill he evidently didn't like...all of a sudden is going to go to bat for an Arab outfit so they can have control of running our ports.... I have to tell ya, even if 9/11 had NEVER happened, I would still be against this, big time. There has to be some COMMON SENSE left SOMEWHERE out there in D.C. doesn't there???? I seriously wonder. Frankly, I think it left long ago....I was just appalled when Carter gave away the Panama Canal....when NAFTA was sneaked in under the wire before the public had a chance to discuss it, the things our gov. does is just deplorable.

This is a worse call than Harriet Miers. Let's have hearings on the port issue. I don't know what Bush is up to, but it's time to find out.
