No, Miss Billie, Ma'am...
but in 1966 we scurried across the state as fast as we could in our No-a/c van, gasping and panting, just like the tigers in Little Black Sambo who went round and round the tree, and melted..:))

Mind you, we had been in Rapid City, South Dakota for a year and Fairbanks, Alaska for 3 1/2, driving from Fairbanks to South Florida, and wore our coats all the way down the Alaska Highway and Rocky Mountains, until we turned the corner in New Mexico; hit soon after in Texas by 105 degree heat - OH, MAN!!...

Having thus paid some kind of dues,
might I be considered an Honorary Texan??
