According to excerpts of official documents I saw yesterday, there were NO U.S. companies that bid on the contract. I would like more explanation on WHY there were no other viable contractors.

I would like more explanation on WHY there were no other viable contractors. The companies that operate these port terminals are usually part of large ocean shipping conglomerates. Few -- if any -- of those companies are U.S. companies.
