Who is your favorite Republican for President in 2008?
George Allen
Bill Frist
Newt Gingrich
Rudy Giuliani
John McCain
Mike Pence
Condoleezza Rice
Rick Santorum
Tom Tancredo
Undecided/Other
You had to make it clear -- if you said "or" or "any order" (the two of you 'Rudy or Rice' types, weigh in again with top choice), I didn't count it, because this was on the fly. I'm assuming everyone voted only once, please, because this is not Seattle, Washington. Stopped at #200 for the moment. Here it is:
Allen 29
Pence 20
Rice 13
Giuliani 6
Tancredo 6
Coburn 3
McCain 3
Santorum 3
Thompson 3
Undecided / Other 3
Barbour 2
Blackwell 2
Cheney 2
Franks 2
Jeb 2
Paul 2
Romney 2
Ahnold 1
Belhaven 1
Brownback 1
Bonifide 1
Cornyn 1
Forbes 1
Gen. Honore 1
Hayworth 1
Huckabee 1
let the primaries decide 1
Lincoln 1
Lugar 1
Newt 1
None of above 1
Rummy 1
Wheeler 1
Zell Miller 1
Rudy/Rice
Of the people listed, I picked Condi, but I don't know if I want her either.
I really wanted to vote: None of the above!
I think the next President is definitely going to be a Republican...because war is in the air.
A war that is being thrust upon us and one we really don't want. We're supposed to be the mature settled peaceful super power that thrives on free trade.
The Democrats, no matter how much lipstick...are still pigs. They can never win an election with the likes of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad leading Iran.
I think Rice could be a great vice-president in 08 with SOS on her resume.
Guiliano is a blend of Bush and Truman, IMO. Nuff said.
Waiting for a true conservative.
Amen! I'm hoping and praying for that too, Czar!
Mike Pence running strong!!!
The way to keep the Rs in the White House for a long time would be to nominate Rudy, along with a powerhouse VP like Romney who would be groomed as a successor. Allen just isn't electable.
Hillary ONLY goes for a "sure deal" and this isn't one. She will NOT even be in the Dem primary!
I would have cast my vote for Tommy Thompson prior to the whole Varichip thingie.
All we can do.
Thank you.
Mike Pence!

Wasn't Brownback considering to run?
Me either, but I still wonder what the draw to her is?
I am surprised to see so much support for her on a conservative forum. She is an articulate, attractive and intelligent person, but her stand on most issues of concern to conservatives is a BIG question mark.
That's not so! I understand Haley, easily, and am a born and bred New Yorker, who has never lived in the South.
I, too, have said it for a while. She ain't runnin', and if she does run she won't get the nomination.
I'll take Condoleeza; the only problem being she has repeatedly said she's not running!
Of the others, I would have to take George Allen.
Allen. But he needs to jazz up his speeches. A little Bear Bryant bluntness would help.
