Objectivity? Reporter Dana Milbank Wears a Hunter's Outfit For MSNBC Interview
Newsbusters.org ^ | 13 February 2006 | Dave Pierre

Posted on 02/13/2006 7:33:47 PM PST by infoguy

On tonight's Countdown With Keith Olbermann on MSNBC (Monday, February 13, 2006), Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank appeared for an interview wearing a bright-orange hunter's vest and hat. Michelle Malkin has the photo and video.

How on earth is anyone supposed to believe that the Washington Post can maintain any objectivity on the Cheney hunting story when one of their most veteran and prominent reporters shows up for an interview dressed like this?

Think back to 1998. Imagine a female newspaper reporter (not an opinion columnist, but a reporter, mind you) showing up for a television interview dressed in a beret and looking like Monica Lewinsky. Or a male columnist wearing a Clinton wig and holding a cigar. It never would have happened, because these people would have lost their jobs. Their employer's credibility would have been shot.

It's astonishing: It appears Milbank wasn't even trying to hide his bias!

HT: Michelle Malkin.

My excuse was, the TV was on there because I had been watching olympic hockey earlier in the day, and had a few errands to run, and I leave the TV on to keep my cat company when I run my errands.

Malkins site had the email of the Posts ombudsman and I emailed. I was ticked. That was just out of bounds.

With the midterms coming up, the MSM is going to milk this for all it is worth. I hope to God we come out ahead, just to hear all the sobbing from the left!

It is malicious. And it's frightening how they feel so empowered to openly mock this situation.

Malicious and juvenile. I watch with sickened sadness as the media demonstrate their immaturity. They are INDIGNANT at having to wait for 18 hours to find out what happened.

Petty, juvenile, and offensive.

Ridiculous! Almost comical if it weren't so malicious and pathetic.

I had a suicide in my family back decades ago when I was 13. Very early the next morning after the death, a nebbie ignorant neighbor woman hurried across the road to our home, came to the door and began hammering my mother with prying questions. It was disgusting, out of place, pathetic and hurtful.

These reporters reminded me of that behavior today. It says something very ugly about this country to have reporters acting as despicably as they did.

I wish somebody would just say "We didn't tell you because we knew you'd make a$$e$ out of yourself.

Imagine if they had told them; they would have swarmed that ranch. The Armstrongs would have been SWAMPED with reporters tromping all over the place, asking personal questions.

They are just mad because they didn't get a picture of the BLOOD.

The good thing about Olbermann's "Countout" is that it only has 28 viewers nationally.

I'm off to bed ... it's been a really long day .. but I was just watching Neil Cavuto's show and the discussion about the press being upset about not being told right away

I believe it was around 3am in the morning once all information finally was obtained

Sooooooooooooo .. I think the next time the WH should wake up the press .. including David Gregory up at 3 am to inform them of the latest news reports on any new events

Some idiot female reporter actually asked "Would it have been worse if the injured man died?"

I wish that someone, sometime, would just reply "Are you JOKING??!!" in an astonished tone of voice. Confront the stupidity!

Just so, or a crossing guard in the inner city. I've never seen those reflector stripes on a hunting vest. I'll bet he had reflectors on his sneakers.
