Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a man in perpetual motion, flew to South Carolina on Jan. 16. His stops included a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. and speeches to local Republican groups. But one of his most important events was not on the public schedule -- a 5 p.m. meeting at a Spartanburg hotel with loyalists to President Bush.
A dozen or so people were in attendance. At least two were among Bush's major national fundraisers. Virtually all had been on Bush's side in the bitter 2000 South Carolina primary that badly damaged McCain's chances of winning the presidential nomination and scarred the relationship between the two men and their rival political camps. McCain was there to woo them.

Don't call me, McCain. I have a long memory.
While I respect your service to the country as a POW and your years as senator, I do not think you are GOP presidential material.

This Iowan is willing to give Allen a serious look but McCain can stay out of the state for all I care. I just don't see how he (or any of the other RINOS) will make a good showing in Iowa and if they don't, they're done.

Make no mistake, in his heart of hearts McCain is as liberal as Ted Kennedy. How do you know? This guy doesn't care about anything except what he has to do to please the press in order to have access to a microphone and camera. That's his agenda. The reason he's on a kick to criticize spending is because that too pleases the press because he's criticizing Republicans.

JOHN MCCAIN is NOT FIT TO LEAD THIS NATION. What is we end up with Hillary and McCain as our candidates? Scary, huh? They're both nuts.

I thought of Alan Keyes. I was
trying to get others to participate in an effort to put forth other choices as oppossed to trying to make a sow's ear into a silk purse.
Thank you for your suggestion.

McCain would be better than Bush on spending and securing the borders. Yeah, look at the great job he has done with the borders in his own state!

He won't get my support in a primary. I'll hold my nose and vote for the clown in a general election. Anyone but Hitlery is my motto.

"McCain Is Courting Bush Loyalists" <<< Who is the genius at the Washington Post that writes their headlines? This is like saying McCain seeks pizza at Domino's.
However, in this case, I don't think he'll find a bunch of help from Bush Loyalists.
