Go get Michael Crichton's 'State of Fear' -- very good read and he does expose a lot of the crap that poses as science these days.

Here's a quickstart...
Look at the line for keywords just below your posted message.
Click on the "GLOBALWARMING" keyword and you'll go right to the
threads that have also had that keyword tagged to them.

I don't have specific figures on hand, but can tell you that flatulence
from cows, etc. puts a load of gases into the air. Some of our prime
agricultural research universities have done work to try to reduce this
venting of pollution to the atmosphere.

One volcanic eruption releases more greenhouse gasses and ozone depleting chemicals that all of human history. Yet the earth has survived 4 billion years of volcanic eruptions.

No matter what a person believes about "global warming"....does anybody really believe a bunch of politicians are going to pass some laws to roll back global temperatures? They can't even balance a budget. So Super Liberal Yuppieish to believe that the earth is some Volvo where you can just turn a knob and make your sweatheart feel more comfortable by turning down the temperature.....how laughable.....Super Liberal Yuppies make me sick. (Hillary & Bill ugghhh)

The first thing you have to realize is that environmentalism is a big business, as big as the businesses they claim to fight against. Every time there is an alternate study, they claim it is just spin by ‘big business’.. the same challenge can be made against their claims..

But, as for the science behind global warming, there are many challenges to the model including conflicting data, inaccurate readings, reverse correlations, and just plain bad conclusions. But don’t take my word for it:

So, if there is global warming there is good news and bad. The good news, winter sucks. Expensive, cold, dangerous, gloomy, cabin fever kind of stuff. Global warming means the end of winter? Probably a myth. Bad news, everything the pseudo scientists say will come to pass, will be the bad news.

Probably also a myth. So, don't worry be happy, the flood happened 6,000 years ago. Warming is everything we need to make the world capable of growing crops in the arctic and antarctica. Ask yourself what self interest folks might have to make global warming a fear issue in the hearts of "normal" folks.

Greenhouse gases exist because of nature. Compared to that, human emissions of greenhouse gases are tiny.

I saw a really interesting documentary on either National Geographic or History Channel a few weeks ago that said that we had only recently (w/in the past 100 years) come out of a "mini" Ice Age. "Mini" is, of course, relative, since 100 years is only a blip in terms of geologic time. Anyway, it seems that, until around 1400 or so, it was warm enough in England that they could produce their own wine but that the climate changed drastically in the late 14th/early 15th centuries. This mini Ice Age therefore lasted 600 years or so, until the late 19th century.

The opinions in the program ran the gamut. Some said that the Ice Age was triggered by sunspot activity. Others said that it was from changes in the earth's magnetic field. Yet others said that it was from unusually high levels volcanic activity during the period. It was so cold in the summer of (I think) 1816 that parts of New England had 2 feet of snow. Yes, IN THE SUMMER.

Regardless, the temperatures started rising in the late 19th/early 20th centuries, decades BEFORE everyone owned a car and more than 100 years AFTER the start of the Industrial Revolution hit Western Europe and North America and more than 50 years after trains started crossing Europe and North America.

The Left keeps telling us that the US is warmer than any time on record. But it is important to remember that a) we have only been the US for 230 years, b) 100+ of those years were during that mini Ice Age and c) that records 230+ years ago were not exactly as accurate as they are now.

So, yes, temperatures are rising, and yes, humans may have something to do with it. But it cannot be all our fault because, if you take all of history into account (and Liberals are way too self-absorbed to think about anything other than the here and now), you'll see that temperatures have fluctuated wildly over the years. Everyone except for those who deny the existence of the fossil record knows that the continents were once in different places on the globe than they are now and that places on the earth that are now landlocked used to be under water. In 5+ billion years, the earth has changed a lot.

Do a keyword search using "climate change". It will bring up most of the articles archived here.
