In introducing his new Question, Durbin says he's given great thought to a line of rhetoric put forth by the AJ because the admin has been using it too.
Does anyone here believe Durbin has contemplated any argument by the admin or AG deeply? His aides and outside legal help, maybe, Durbin? Engaged in Intellectually deep thought on a legal matter? Get real.
Durbin: If it's exclusive, why didn't you take advantage of the fact that you had strong bipartisan support of the Patriot Act. Why didn't you come to this congress and say there were things we needed to change?
Gonzales: The primary criminal code in FISA, Section 109 , page 179, provides that a person is guilty of an offense if they...I can't get it - speaking too fast.
Bipartisan consensus? Yeah right, Durbin. Then why are we here?
I love how Durbin wants to say that there isn't a single reference to electronic surveillence. Oh, but evidently the constitution has a specific reference to the right to an abortion.
Disingenuous argument.
