Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..

I can understand that point, but it seems that divulging more info the terrorists can use to be stealthy is what concerns me.,
The Democrats have decided that those concerns are secondary to their desire to go fishing for issues to be used in their political campaigns.....

Stopped Leaky and said "Let me finish". I loved that.

He is doing great. The Democrats are already grasping at straws. They have nothing. They know he can't answer those questions.

Hatch doing a good job reading various cases that support the president's authority to conduct warrantless wiretaps for foreign purposes.

Hatch: Campbell vs. Clinton.
Gonzales: Yes. The court authorized...
Hatch: interrupts and mentioning more cases.
Gonzales: The FISA court of review in that case acknowledged that these cases by other circuit courts tha tthe president does have authority. FISA said it cannot encroach on the president's constitutional powers.
Hatch: So people who say the president is violating the law are ignoring these cases?
Gonzales: I want to emphasize that we're overriding FISA. We use FISA - it's an important tool to fight the WOT. There will be discussion tod ay to amend FISA. I don't know that it will be amended. It exists even in peacetime. I think the procedures are reasonable in peacetime.

I'm really happy with Hatch. All the cases, especially those after 1978.
