Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..
Hold them in every red state with a RAT senator up for reelection in November, and when people get sick of them, hold more.
In fact, in August, start impeachment hearings, and get every RAT up for reelection on national TV.
the difference is.............there are rumours that he is being blackmailed........if he does'nt go along with the dems, he will be "outed" comprez?
Voinivich has finally got religion?
I need to switch on Brit. Mr. Prairie is on business call and I'm delaying turning the tv back on.
(standing on one foot...!!)
The Rats are playing their games/....
At how many RPMs? :-)
The Dim talking point seems to be that the AG wasn't put under oath. This is pablum for the terminally stupid.
You can't put him under oath to "tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" when testifying about classified material. He MUST refuse to answer any questions that would require him to reveal classified material. But the oath would FORCE him to do so.
Tools.
Well, then let me leave it that many of these Senators have done enough in the past to make me have an honest suspicion as to their character and behavior.
The SCummie DUmmies are busy with their ant-farm telephones it appears.
OK thanks....missed that one/.
It is definitely a power struggle. Each branch has a sphere of influence, in wartime as well as in peacetime. The system works best when no one branch is permitted to run roughshod over the others.
The people are supposed to have a role too.
I turned off as the first caller called in on the Republican line and was a "program caller"..would not answer if he was a Republican..and had not seen the hearings. That's why I don't listen to call ins anymore..
"Time to start calling Congress and tell them we don't trust them with national security!"

Who's the wizard? the mastermind?? Who's behind the curtain.. the puppetmaster ... orchestrating this calculated multi-pronged attack by the Rats? Cindy, Iraq, NYSlimes leaks, NSA surveillance, Katrina, Plame, troop realignment and reformation, budget issues, impeachment, social program "alleged" cuts, .. all of it. Ickes?? Podesta? Maggie Williams? Soros?? Someone's definitely directing the drip drip drip.
Maybe they will be more careful then, in the future, when writing AUMFs....
so this should go on THEM, not Bush, IMHO.
BUT, it still isn't a political winner...because I think that people with common sense would assume that this kind of surveillance would be part of ANY WAR PLAN.
I think this should be taken to the Supreme Court to decide since it's obviously a power struggle between the other two branches. Spector wants it taken to FISA, but FISA is directly involved. This should be decided by the USSC.
H-----Y.
Good questions, Starwise. Soros?
I've received two phone calls tonight to tell me that Gore is definitely running for the presidency in '08.
Is there an official announcement that I've missed?
And do you wonder why they are asking that???
BECAUSE SPECTER called this hearing so the Senators would have a platform to ask all kinds of "SCARY" scenario questions that would make people paranoid...
knowing that Bush isn't doing it...but that Gonzalez was not going to go into what is/isn't being done.
Specter just gave a whole day's worth of free campaign time to the dems.
