Good Monday morning, once again, fellow political jinkies. The NFL season may be over, but the political season inside the Beltway is 24/7/365. So join us, if you can, as those wacky Dems on the Senate Judiciary committee reprise their pitiful efforts to once again smear President Bush and score political points..
I am switching to the Foxnews channel for Brit's Hour....
I agree....
Not necessarily that they are being surveilled, I took A Citizen Reporter's comments as that the Senators "suspicions" about the program also makes them appear like they are targets.
I disagree with that - I think honest suspicion as a matter of principle is healthy. OTOH, Durbin and Schumer's attacks are politically motivated and not aimed at finding a way to balance a number of competing interests.
BINGO
That's why I DARE Congress to do away with tapping the terrorists
I DOUBLE DARE THEM
BTW .. did ya notice the pow wow Lindsey had with Specter after the hearing?
Sorry I was away; you've made good points but my feeling regarding a democrat in the WH is that they will do it all anyway whether it's legal or not. And it won't just be for national security issues, which is defensible, imo. But like Clinton, they will use the IRS to go after political enemies.
Yes, who is watching over them.....
I was giving him the benefit of the doubt here but now I think he just killed all possibility of secrets..wanting a full secret Intelligence committee airing of the details of the program that they, of course, will leak.
Well, the Bush Presidency has seen the deadliest attack on the U.S. in history, the worst hurricane in U.S. history, and now what looks like will develop into a full-fledged Constitutional Crisis, courtesy Arlen Specter and the New York Times.
If W didn't have bad luck he'd have no luck at all.
THANK GOD!!!! At least, some hint of the leaking ........give 'em hell, Al!! You say that, and I'll go out and buy some of your VO5 haircreme tomorrow!
Ha! Voinovich now says he supports Bolton at the UN. IIRC he's one of reasons Bush had to recess appoint Bolton.
Voinovich = 0
Bolton = 1
No, I missed that...
That's another pitfall in the "AUMF authorizes this" argument. Quite a few Republican Senators have expressed the same sort of "misgiving." Another way this argument is phrased is that "If the President is going to 'misconstrue' or 'extend' Congressional acts, you can bet we'll be circumspect about granting him any authority."
Notice that both the republican and democratic lines seems to be populated with democrats. All the call seem to be slanted the same way.
Interesting...it is probably the same group of lefty nutters. I am going to try to 'mine' for some 'data'(lol) on the Fleischer guy later...either before or after 24(grin). Will let you know what I find out. Isn't it interesting that these leftists don't worry about the lot of data that can be found out about them in open source material, including their cell phone records, but let our government try to catch terrorists and Katy bar the door.....LMAO!
Where did that come from?
C-SPAN callers are 5-1 against the President. "what is president Bush hiding?"
Exactly. Not much else, either.
