FReeper Canteen ~ Military Short Speak ~ Feb. 6, 2006
(Thanks Bro!) | Sweet Polly Purebread

Posted on 02/05/2006 6:58:31 PM PST by StarCMC

FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above.
Honoring those who have served before.

********

That's right - the Canteen mission
Support the troops and all they do
They've given up so much
All for me and you

There are so many here
Who keep the aim sure and true
They support the troops
And have lots of fun too

We dance and play
And spin on our toes
A turn of phrase
A joke or some prose

All for the troops
Who visit and  bask
Looking for a friend
A break from their task

So thanks to my friends
You know who you are
This army sister's brother
Is home from the war

You made my life easy
You taught me some things
You brought me such peace
You gave me wings

I'll always hold dear
The ones who have cared
Who gave me their true friendship
Thank you FReeper Canteen.

Retreat

A bugle call sounded when the U. S. flag is being lowered at the end of the day.
Retriever
A special tank designed as a sort of "wrecker" for tanks. What they are able to do is almost a miracle.

Reveille

A signal to awaken, get out of bed and begin the day. Often a bugle call, in boot camp more often the yells and screams of Drill Instructors and the sounds of GI cans crashing to the deck.

Good morning, folks.((HUGS))

Spent yesterday doing some stuff. No, we didnt get any rain here. Could sure use some.

Went to the hospital to visit my Uncle Jack. He's doing OK. They're running some tests on him. They're goning to find out what's wrong with him and see if they can correct it so he can get back home.

Played with Bo yesterday. Had a lot of fun.

My sister and her husband from the city are coming down. He has a work assignment in one of our neighboring towns.

Not much else happening.

SHEZZA

We’ve got music…….

We’ve got dancers……..

We’ve got amusement…….

We’ve got food……

Where's the cook?

And, we’ve got drink…..

However, at a cyber party you're only allowed 2. We don't encourage drinking and FReeping. You know what they say, FRiends don't let FRiends drink and FReep.

The new truck is going real well. We took it out to the lake.

Bo sat in it in the back for the first time yesterday He didn't like it too much because there's no open windows in the back.

Soon, we'll be getting a new camper shell and then he'll be able to sit in that spot with a chcne to peak out and get some wind in him as he likes to do.

Jack had some problems the last few days. His chest had been hurting on and off. They're looking to find out what the problem is.

Good morning Canteeners, Cubies, Newbies & Troops! As most of you know, I'm a coarse and unsinkable Steelers fan, so I'll say it for Jerome Bettis & company: mission accomplished! If you haven't checked out Kristinn's post about the DC Anti-War rally this weekend, do so. Hope you all have a terrific day!

Greetings, FReepers, Troops,
and All the Ships at Sea!

Reporting in Drive-by Mode from Tampa, Florida, it’s the continuing saga of Sarge's Most Excellent Adventure!

And here we are, camping out in the airport concourse with the only Web access available for a while. This is just a missive to let everyone know, that the flights and the transfers over the next day or two will bring silence, but once back on the ground in theater once again, Sarge will take up the reporting as per normal.

It strikes as ironic and disappointing, that one must get to a third-world hellhole war zone to get better and more reliable Internet access than in Florida…

But, for a few hours anyway, Sarge is enjoying a Starbuck’s breakfast in the concourse, before the first leg of the journey begins. The car got turned back in, the hotel’s empty, the duffle bag is past the carousel, and assault bag in one hand, and laptop in the other, away we go.

Sarge will be in and out as access permits, so Y’all Have Fun!

OLD SARGE

DISCLAIMER: If you wish to be on/off Sarge's Daily Report, FReepmail with details!
