My cousin, a Marine, just got back from Iraq last month. He still instinctively slaps his thigh whenever he hears a sudden loud noise.

Interesting article, ping. (I'll try to comment as soon as I finish translating from the GUNSPEAK LEXICON). :D

The 9mm is a metrosexual pistol. The .45 is a man's gun.

Best one shot fight stopper there is. That's why it's important.

At 840 fps muzzle velocity the .45 is like throwing a trash can down a alley.

GODBLESS OUR TROOPS!

Technically, the “hitting power” of a bullet is determined by the bullet weight and velocity, and is measured in joules.

Ehhh..... what happened to Foot-Pounds?

Brother, you be preachin' the Gospel truth.

The .45 is more effective in many, many ways than competing rounds. Why our troops were forced to use another round is beyond me and common sense.

In the area of rifles, I've really enjoyed using my .45-70 single shot. It only takes one bullet to roll a wild hog.

I have a .40 (glock) and it kicks like a mule.

Went shooting w/ a friend and his .45 was smooth as silk.

SMACK!!! (Hitting forehead w/ palm) shoulda bought a .45!

I have a S&W 9mm and a Springfield Armory 1911. If in a gun fight I would take that 1911 any day over the 9mm. The SA1911 just "feels" more like a real gun.

All in the weight of the gun.

The M1911 is a fine weapon.

We have rules here, FRiend. Namely, if you're going to post gun porn, you have to post the pics.

Foot pounds is jost another way of saying how much energy the bullet carries. Actually joules is fairly close even if the numbers don't mean the same.

In other words my Lapua cartridges are rated at something like 2800 joules which would be roughly 2400 foot pounds.

Yeah, that color scheme looks pretty cool. Since I live in the desert, it would match the terrain pretty well.

Hmm.

I think the main reason they went to 9mm is that is what the NATO troops carried.
