I am proud to say that I can't be accused of gender discrimination when I say, "Democrats are girlie-men." :)

You said:
He just called for illegals.
Quite simply put, you're lying:
Keeping America competitive requires an immigration system that upholds our laws, reflects our values, and serves the interests of our economy. Our nation needs orderly and secure borders. (Applause.) To meet this goal, we must have stronger immigration enforcement and border protection. (Applause.) And we must have a rational, humane guest worker program that rejects amnesty, allows temporary jobs for people who seek them legally, and reduces smuggling and crime at the border. (Applause.)
And I notice that you didn't bother to include this part:
that rejects amnesty, allows temporary jobs for people who seek them legally, and reduces smuggling and crime at the border.
You know, the part where he said LEGAL, not ILLEGAL, like YOU SAID.
You lied.

I'm talking about what the President said.
You had to infer that he was saying something he didn't say. I was just listening to the words he used. Illegal immigrants are CALLED illegal immigrants. The rest of us and our ancestors are called 'immigrants.'
There is a very big difference between what you did and what I did.

He did not say...'legal immigrants' nor did he say...'illegal immigrants', only immigrants. That leaves it up to our own interpretation of which set of immigrants he was talking about. Since we don't seem to have a problem will legal immigrants storming our borders to get across and dying in the desert of thirst, why bring up the subject at all then unless it was in reference to illegals?

I think it's fair for me to find out on this very public forum why he lied on this very public forum about what the President said last night.
It's not any form of personal feud. It's a matter of principle in defense of truth and what the President said.
I'd like to see him defend his lie right here, if you don't object.
I don't take kindly to deliberate deceit no matter where it comes from.

You're making a whole series of presumptions there, p.
If you wonder why he brought the subject up, perhaps you should ask him.

I suppose we should be encouraged that these folks have to lie about what the President said to be able to criticize him for last night's speech.
It was so powerful that you have to make things up to gripe about it.

I defined what he parsed. There is a difference.
I have no problem with immigrants.
I have a problem with illegal aliens and he doesn't.

Stop lying, pbrown; you're better than that.

You're making a whole series of presumptions there, p. As are you. Your presumptions are on one side of the interpretations and mine the other side. What you're saying is your interpretations are correct and mine are not. Why is that since we are both left to divine what he meant with such a nondescript word as immigrant. There are two meanings to that word, illegal and legal. He stayed in the middle of that argument by just saying immigrant, not committing to either one.
Just go over FR's articles on illegal immigrants. That's the hot button issue in our country today, not legal immigrants.

Pointless to continue this.
I am not making presumptions. I heard what the President actually said, and I am not 'interpreting' it according to my own worldview.
You should try it some time.

Hey ohioWfan,
I notice you are still having trouble with someone who does not listen very closely to speeches. Do you know that that is how some rumors get started? Poor thing. Keep up the good work.

I heard on CNN Headline this morning Sheehan wasn't in the House chamber because of the t-shirt she was wearing, and she's still under probation. Violating Congressional dress code carries a penalty of 1 year in jail.
