Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

BEST Actress:The bodacious lady is the bright red suit who was seen sheparding Alito around the halls and corridors of Congress. The Coulter Rule clearly applies here, Ken. We need some pictures. :)

Here we go again... Dems trying to create a new rule that the incoming Justice should be a clone of the one that is leaving.
That's moronic.

The incredible irony in the logic of the abortion lobby is that children will suffer a bleak and horrible future if they are unable to kill their own children.
I think it was Maxine Waters (?) who said "I must march because my mother could not have an abortion." Gee, I wonder what she would be doing today if her mother had options? Maybe a whole lot less.

A chill wind blows?
Is there a more hackneyed rhetorical device in all of American political discourse?

I would love to send a letter to Justice Alito after today, congratulating him on his confirmation. That's what I felt like doing for Condoleeza Rice after her confirmation as Secretary of State. I was so proud that this woman had held her own and maintained her dignity in the face of such inexcuseable attacks on the part of the Democrats. I wanted to send her a card of congratulations but in the end decided she'd probably never see it anyway...but at least that's how I felt at that time.

Can they still attempt a filibuster? A real one? Because of the cloture vote any delay can be ruled out of order by the Chair.

LOL! Yes, he has the creativity of a turd.

It's about as hackneyed as Schmuck's "cooling saucer" diatribe.

PRICELESS!! Has the DUmpster reopened after their period of mourning yesterday? I *should* go login there now, so I can post a message of condolence before they lockdown the boards again. :)
