Actress Sharon Stone has slammed the US saying that it is not doing enough to help those suffering from AIDS. Stone is disgusted by the lack of support for even American victims of the disease and condemns the US for dismissing the disease as an African problem only, contactmusic.com reported. She says: There is this feeling that AIDS has gone away and it hasnt. In downtown Los Angeles there are two whole streets of homeless people with AIDS who have no access to drugs. A child dies of AIDS every minute, and theyre not all in Africa.

Actions have consequences. 'Nuff said.

I guess she wants everyone to be able to engage in any kind of sex they want and not have to accept responsibility for the consequences. I can't help but notice that some of the worst scourges of the Human Race seem to be associated with some of the Leftist's pet agendas...

When I hear about someone getting infected with AIDS I always equate it to a skydiver who's chute didn't open. I just can't work up much sympathy for either when something finally goes wrong.

I keep seeing this poster on DC Metro buses with a bunch of people standing together and the slogan "We all have AIDS...if one of us does."
That's only true if everyone in the picture is a turd burglar or a junkie.

Funny, Bono and Bob Geldof think Bush has done more for AIDS than any other President. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Shooting her in the head would be a complete waste of a bullet. To make it effective, you'd want to hit something more that skin and air.

The only ones who I have sympathy for are the few who acquired the illness through blood transfusions. In that case the infected donor should be investigated to see if they knew they had HIV. If they knew they should be shot!

In downtown Los Angeles there are two whole streets of homeless people with AIDS who have no access to drugs. How does she know this? Did she give an AIDS screen to each one? I want her to back up her big mouth with evidence.

The United States is presently carrying out a $15 billion, five-year Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, mainly directed toward 14 countries in Africa and the Caribbean, plus Vietnam. And what are you doing, Ms. Stone? Spending your millions on more plastic surgery? Put a sock in it. Or whatever fits.

Hmm, I wonder why this particular tidbit has raised my BS alarm? Mine too.
The WHO estimated 570,000 AIDS related deaths in children in 2005.
Giving 570,000 / 365 = 1562 / 24 = 65 deaths per hour.
So the number is accurate; the question is how they define 'child' (prepubescent?, under 10?, 6?) and what they mean by 'AIDS related death'.
Was it secondary infection like pneumonia (probably related to AIDS) or was something like dysentery or cholera (with little-to-no connection to AIDS).

When SAG requires all performers to give 50% of all windfall acting jobs to aids charities then take them seriously.
Could it be because AIDS has been shown to NOT be a mainstream problem.
To: Millee
Ah yes.
See what happens when Republicans try to be do-gooders and spend billions on a disease that is largely preventable?
Still get criticized. Just like liberals are complaining about the new Medicare drug benefit. It's never enough.
