Whats weird about this whole thing is the RATS think this ''resistance'' or fake out filibuster thing is making them look strong!.... HUH?! They're a huge laughing stock.Everyone is laughing at them! Don't they know that? Whats wrong with them?!........Is this little stunt going to make me want to vote for them, and hand over the country and my kids future, in this war time, to the likes of despicable clowns like Ted Kennedy , John Kerry,Howard Dean or that pathetic Dennis Kucinich??!........What are these idiots thinking?!!

If it weren't for the threat of the Constitutional option, a whole lot more Democrats would be voting for a filibuster.

You got that right. They know without the filibuster being permanently, they still hold out hope that they can prevent the next Bush nominee to the Supreme Court (assuming of course the next nominee doesn't perform as well as Roberts and Alito, both of whom clean their clocks). Maybe even more importantly, they don't want to see Bush nominate any Latino or Black judges because that would go against the stereotype the Rats try to foist onto Republicans. Nope, "Wouldn't be prudent"

I see the most likely retirees as being Stevens or Ginsburg due to health reasons. I was very surprised that Stevens didn't retire in 1999 or early 2000.

He is by far, the oldest Justice. He's 85!

Stevens is one of those old hard-core lefties, like that ancient crone, Ramsey Clark. They will each die with their boots on. They'll fervently hope for a Socialist paradise on earth till they draw their last labored breaths.

Ginsburg is another one. If she has to, she'll crawl through nails and broken glass to her office every morning, praying with every inch that the Workers of the World will unite and impeach George Bush before she shuffles off this mortal coil.

These pinko hollow shells are psychologically driven in an obsessive way and will never throw in the towel. Their clanking chains will be heard in the dark, ghostly halls of justice forever, it seems.

I suspect the "normal" demonRATs are all but being drowned out by the rabid LOONY LIBERAL LEFT (LLL) which has hijacked this party. Wander over to DUmmie land if you dare, or listen in tomorrow to Errhead Amerika and they are burning up the phone, fax, and e-mail cables to their RAT senators trying to get them to pull a Phil A. Buster. The LLL states "this country will be lost for ever if Alito is confirmed and we will go back 50 years on our civil rights gains" (read: gay rights, abortion, mandated diversity programs, abortion, all Roosevelt/Johnson social programs, abortion, etc.).

And Feinstein cowed (no pun intended ) by Sheenan into flip-flopping on the fillibuster......how can she be trusted to do the right thing in time of war.....[we already know the answer]

Oh! I know Feinstein is worthless!.... I wrote her a letter, a while back, telling her I hoped she would put partisan politics aside and vote to confirm this highly qualified judge. Judge Alito....... She writes me back a form letter telling me she was voting ''no'' so I could always have my rights preserved to have an abortion in the future ,,,,,,,,,''Who asked her for an abortion?! I was so mad! ......It doesn't make a bit of difference to me if that fool Cindy Shehan took Feinstiens job or Boxer's cause to me they are all the same. They are all worthless idiots!

Stevens or Ginsburg is probably going to drop next. Replacing one of them with one of ours will be major. I just hope the president has the backbone to go for it, and not put a leftie up there to maintain balance or whatever.

I just don't understand why, to the Dems, the USSC is only balanced if they have a majority of libs sitting on the bench. There are 9 of them so at any given time its always going to be 5 to 4 at least. I wonder why they think the American people want a majority of libs.

And it's beginning to look more and more like Reid's days as minority leader are numbered.

Reid is reading from the same script as Little Tommy was, and that tells me that they are both puppets for whomever is pulling the strings.

I think the Harriet Miers incident also sent the message to the Pres. to take the nomination. Take it seriosly or your base will eat you alive and 2) Take no prisoners and make sure you get a bona fide Conservative on the court.

The discovery of the "nuclear option" by the Republicans, however, has made it so that in effect no party will be able to "bork" a supreme court nominee as the democrats have been doing. Unfortunately, the implication of that is that the Republicans also will not be able to filibuster if they lose the majority and the left will be able to ram through "Ultra Leftwing Extremists".

/found a sane voice in the Moonbat Fever Swamp [DU]. We need to co-opt this one before he figures something else out ;)

"That's a point I made a few days ago Indylurker. If you were Bush why fear a filibuster? Right now he's facing an electoral defeat and maybe an electoral realignment in November. He knows this.

Why not have a giant fight over this to reshuffle the deck completely? Why not let the Democratic senators filibuster? In the meantime spend millions on a public relations campaign to turn the public against the Dems. Have important bills stacked up which can't be passed until the "Liberals finish their temper tantrum." Let Jay Leno tell Ted Kennedy jokes night after night for weeks.

Meanwhile keep the focus groups and polling going and if public opinion turns toward the Demcratic side, then you can end it by going "nukular". But in the meantime, let the Democratic senators roast in public opinion for a month or three with the government "shut down."

One thing we saw with Newt Gingrich was that a confrontation like this is easily started, but not easily ended without looking like total capitulation. Just think about Bush so far. Is he going to compromise and pull Alito's name? That doesn't sound like Bush to me. He'll let the filibuster continue and hope it ruins the Dems in the next election. If Bush is anything, he is disciplined."

The Pied Piper of Davos
John Kerry made news with his yodel,
From a room in his Switzerland hotel.
The Libs' wild-eyed Piper
Has made them too hyper.
Dems soon could be extinct like the Dodo.

Currently the count goes 56 Yes, 34 No. This is not the final confirmation vote, but 10 left to vote looks like the Constitutional Option is the best bet. We need 60 votes. I still feel like the Republicans were flirting with stupidity by not changing to the Constitutional Option before even the hearings.
