Anyone with the gumption to go outside the wire deserves our respect, at the least for their loyalty to their own duty. That applies to soldiers, contractors, government civilian employees, *and* reporters.
I have a hard time applying this to the traitorous liar Kevin Sites (and his infamous Fallujah report), but even he gets credit on some level.... though I'm not sure which one.

It frequently comes out like, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." It was attributed to Voltaire but was actually written years later by one of his admirers as a tribute to Voltaire's philosophy.
