President Bush Job Approval

Saturday January 28, 2006--Forty-eight percent (48%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. Fifty-one percent (51%) disapprove.

It is not clear whether the uptick in Job Approval over the past two days is a lasting change or merely statistical noise.

The President earns approval from 79% of Republicans, 23% of Democrats, and 39% of those not affiliated with either major political party.

The Minnesota Senate race is a toss-up. Premium Members can also see our latest data on the Minnesota race for Governor.

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman (D) seems to be in solid shape for re-election, despite grumbling from within his own party. In Colorado, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper (D) has not yet decided if he's running for Governor. If he does, he's the early frontrunner.

The President's highest rating of 2005 was 54% on February 4. His lowest rating was 40% on October 28.

Occasionally, due to the rounding process, the totals for "Strongly" and "Somewhat" Approve or Disapprove presented in the left column do not match the totals presented in the right column.

Forget the points, they are all slanted in some way. The thing I am well conscience of is he is the President Of The United States regardless of the poles.

OK...so Scott has him at 49% today...clearly now becoming a trend from 46% to then 48% to the 49% today.....and ABC in your post yesterday had him at 47% and I just saw this on another thread....

>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jan. 29, 2006 — - A weakened George W. Bush faces the nation in his 5th State of the Union address beset by war fatigue, persistent discontent on the economy and other domestic issues, ethics concerns and rising interest in Democratic alternatives in this midterm election year. Bush's bottom-line job rating -- 42 percent of Americans approve of his work, 56 percent disapprove <<<<<<<<

No matter where we go, the number for Bush is high 40s, that much I'll grant, but someone earlier on this thread mentioned it and I agree completely, whether its Rasmussen or others, if they are polling based on the phone book, these polls will have to become incredibly more sophisticated, since many folks don't use land lines at all any longer. None of my kids do and we are inches from dropping ours to go to cells only.

Interesting times.......but I do agree Rasmussen poll is trending up.
